Does anyone else remember rune libraries before runebooks? :)

Common to see lots of runes and stacked benches, all behind locked down tables.

I'm pretty sure I would go to some lengths to stand outside and mark over runes that were visible from the door...

Ya, I remember that. Also anyone stupid enough to put runes on their patio.

i tried to mark a rune that was on a patio and not locked down from outside the patio. I was unable to do it here.

That's because this functionality was patched out in mid-99. Here is a thread on a different topic where I list a set of patch notes from one of the patches that was listed under the FYI section of the UO website which was later rendered inaccessible that has the relevant information. I really should have archived those patches...
