Re: Not even close to era accurate
Derrick, as conceptual-designer and shard-host, but also as hard-working-designer-in-his-own-right, must earn >50% of the credit; Batlin, meanwhile, was one member of the project notorious for his decompilation of demo-scripts, essential for re-creating mechanics not-adequately-recreated-in-emulato...

Re: Fix LOS bug
Players were overwhelmingly against it. Voted on the forums against it...then voted with their feet. I watched this shard go from ~1,000 - 600 Online when they implemented this....to 81 Online as I type this. To think this correlated with the shard's death is laughable at best. We all know why this...

Re: NPC shopkeepers tell us all why the shard is struggling
UO Second Age era accuracy is based on mechanical accuracies, not social engineering the experiences you had when you played (something that isn't possible in the first place unless you have the blueprints to a time machine of course).

Re: Clean up UOSA
Rose is correct as well. Logged out characters make up a large amount of items on the shard. I'd be interested to see how many items are in accounts that have less than 3 hours of gameplay and that haven't logged in for at least 180 days. I bet that's a solid number of purgable items. Solution is s...

Re: Dexterity and Swing Time
I’m sure Malakait knows the timer on a greater heal, heh heh. I’m pretty sure that was a nod toward his recommendation of 91 dex and 1.58 weapon speed, and my recommendation of 89 and 1.6 weapon speed. I never figured out the relevance to the question so I never responded. A .02 additional weapon s...

Spell Casting Ticks = 1 + (Circle * 1)Malaikat wrote:How many ticks does it take to load a greater heal?
Spell Casting Delay = 0.25 + (Circle * 0.25)
4th takes 5 ticks (1.25 seconds) to cast.

Re: suggestion
Update the world serialization/deserialization process based on inactivity. Save all inactive data in a separate secondary binary file from the primary. When an inactive account attempts to log in, retrieve that data from the inactive secondary file and move it back to the primary file erasing it fr...

Re: Harm spell
Spell interruption considers multiple factors. Damage - Spell Circle Being Interrupted - Caster's Magery Skill Also, spells checked for an interruption twice unlike weapons during this era. Theoretically, spell interruption when conducted by a spell is more reliable than weapon damage due to this kn...

Re: Not supposed to gain from fails in T2A era
[*] You gain combat skills passively when someone swings at you. It seems the skill check takes place not only on the attacker, but the defender. That is because skills could be learned from "watching" up until late '98. Learning skills by watching people who are using them will be remove...

Re: Buffs/Debuffs
Currently you can cast:
weaken
strength
rinse & repeat
Teeter totting the stat values back and forth forever. I thought this was the case on the demo as well. Sounds like you are saying it should be the opposite Kaivan. Am I correct or just reading it wrong?

Re: Poison Duration:
Great to know. I noticed in all the previous discussions during the poison revamp a few years ago there was nothing mentioned about the duration of poison. There was only talks about how often the damage ticks landed and of course the damage itself. Not to mention the curing situation as well was a ...

Last remaining question... are we using these precise values for the delay on UOSA?

mobile = this; strength = getObjVar(mobile, "poison_strength"); setPoisoned(mobile, true); Q4R0 = 15; Q5JB(mobile, strength); Q5JF = (random(10, 20) * strength); callBack(mobile, Q4R0, 83); Few questions. Are we pretty much looking at something like this? Does strength hold a value of 0,1...
