UO Second Age

So im a little confused and annoyed....im being told that as a PvP dexer I need to have GM magery, and that its going to cost me alot to reach GM magery. why should a weapons fighter HAVE to use magery ? shouldn't magery be for people who want to play mages ? I understand you. I am raising a Dexer ...

I just created my character last night, so very new here. But to be a a good pvp environment dont you guys think that there should be at least 4/5 VERY different competitive builds? something like: tank mage, pure mage (no armor or weapons), Fencer Sword Macer Archer with real chanches in 1vs1 envir...

Ok so i'm about to start creating my character. As stated above my only experience was with a fully customized shard so no experience with pure T2A settings.


Can someone tell me 4/5 mage or fencer build that would be PvP competitive? Especially in 1vs1?

I dont believe there were any free shards in 1998...do you mean 2008-2010? There were free shards during this era. I played on a shard with a three letter name I don't remember. What I remember though is that there were player housing in the brit guard zone. Me and a friend used to check for unlock...

Absolutely positive. And it was a great shard where the dev team improved the game a lot.

If you played from 98-00 then a weapon skill was a must. Maybe you are remembering wrong? Well our shard was owned by 3 developers that worked really hard to make the game very balanced. All the classes where competitive and you could be a pure mage and still rule if you knew how to play. Same mage...

Magery Ev Int Res spell Wrestling Meditation Hiding Tracking Only in a group. It is impossible to kill even an average player 1v1 with magery alone on UOSA. mmm that doesn't sound right. So i need to be a mage that swings a sword/katana to be competitive...? Is this some sort of work in progress or...
