UO Second Age

I voted for my age but my son plays too and he is in the under 10 range. (six to be exact) He mostly hunts and kills anything he can find around the house...but slowly he is getting the hang of some of the other harder aspects of the game.

I remember something about communication crystals (anyone else???). But weren't they pretty useless? Anyone remember when these were in game and what they did?

Same here, I thought this would be a fun place to farm but every time I've stayed more than five minutes a pk eventually shows up.

After hitting 60 fishing did you switch (or have you been) fishing in deep water? If you are not in deep water by this point then you wont gain after 60ish. It does take a while to gain GM fishing but you shouldn't really slow down until in the 90's.

OMG lol, I was watching over my husbands shoulder when you did this! He was so pissed at himself once he figured out what you were doing and there was no way for him to get away.

I had problems in papua the other night too. I ended up running in and out of the healers maybe 15-20 times before they finally noticed me and I was able to res.

I used the zoo to macro my bard...there were usually animals but quite often people would come through and kill all the animals off to upset the macros of those who were afk.

What exactly are the unwritten rules of dueling?

I can guess that there are two toons fighting (to the death of one I assume, is that correct?)...I get that, but anything else I should know before I go out and ask someone "duel?" hehe

Thanks guys! This info will hopefully give me a place to start from so I can get my bearings and not run away...Anytime that I have been confronted with pvp by a pk I'm so hyped I have never really thought of how to actually handle the situation beyond running away. I really appreciate your answers....

All I am asking for is information: hints, tricks of the trade etc. to fight those pesky pk's. I've searched the forums a bit and most everything says...don't go here,don't do this, be ready to recall... I did this originally long ago, started doing this as soon as I started playing here but I think...

Maybe what would help is someone who knows how to be ready and defend against pk's post a guide. It would be great if it were aimed at new players but honestly I would love the information also.
