Re: Newbies
Is there any argument against the [young] player system? I remember it being around at some point when I played (and I know I didn't begin playing until at least fall 1999). All I see is upside here.

Re: Questions about taming in T2A time period?
Does anyone remember Frenzied Ostards having 170-180 dex when they were first introduced? I could swear this was the case. Then they moved them down to 125 or so when that whole bonding thing came about and you could actually Animal Lore your pets to see their exact STR, DEX, Magery, etc. My frenzy ...

Re: How are Damage Types Used
You definitely can't look at current weapon speeds to backtrack into what things were. They definitely made some changes to try to "balance" weapons because they failed originally by making fencing weapons so weak. If you eyeball the speed table, fencing weapons sure do look the fastest ov...

Re: Looking for housing space
The problem isn't just the preview though... I think it's the target cursor too. I couldn't make any rhyme or reason as to how the spot I targeted had anything to do with where the house was going to be placed. If for example, we knew we were targeting the tile on which the house sign would be place...

Re: Looking for housing space
My thanks to all. I eventually found a place far north east of Vesper. Very far, my mount was fatigued. Truth be told I probably could have placed sooner but I was having trouble with the actual placing of the house. Whenever I clicked the deed the house would show to the far right (about a screen ...

Re: Discussion: "Extinct" Animals
Stables are unlimited per individual, but retain a cap for overall stabled pets. Stables are completely accurate right now besides one part of the way they function. The stables should stable pets "virtually" with in the stablemaster instead of the stable itself. OK cool, thanks a lot. I'...

Re: The E-bolt and Halberd Theory
OK cool, thanks Faust, you proactively answered the next couple questions I was going to have as well (the AttackLast stuff I kept reading about)! Thanks Kraarug, I appreciate it. I'm just trying to keep it simple so my head doesn't explode. Joining the shard a few weeks ago, I'm sifting through 2 y...

Re: Discussion: "Extinct" Animals
Long ago, the Good/Evil patch was put in, though it is my understanding that it was truly never implemented on production shards Why exactly are these animals getting put into this shard? I don't see how this is at all era accurate... and bear in mind, this is coming from someone who is working on ...

Re: The E-bolt and Halberd Theory
Arming and disarming a weapon can alter your weapon delay. The equip delay was implemented in '97 and still exists to this very day. The way the equip delay worked during the t2a era was resetting your current weapon delay according to the weapon you just equipped. For example, equipping a hally wh...

Re: The E-bolt and Halberd Theory
Also, two-second hally hits were NOT the double-hally-hit exploit. I'd guess the hits were 1/4 to 1/2 second apart... real fast, like the amount of time it took to play the hit sound twice consecutively. Some PvPer from the west coast (Pacfic/Sonoma) named Bob Marley taught me how to do it on Test C...

Re: The E-bolt and Halberd Theory
I'm a little confused on the mechanics here, but are we saying a Halberd can swing every 2.4 seconds with 25 stamina? Or instead, that somehow you can fool around with equipping, unequipping, wrestling, whatever else, to make it swing every 2.4 seconds?

Re: Old School Skill Gain
What's interesting is that this is a supposed solution to macroing... but macroing is allowed on our shard. Also, how was Tactics the slowest skill to rise? I don't remember it, or any of the weapon skills, being that hard. Lastly... are you sure this doc is from T2A? The paragraphs above it talk ab...

Re: Razor bandage timer
Meph, did you try what Dagon above you suggested - using the "Bandage Self" hotkey itself? I am using a razor hotkey. Is there a reason why half the people on this board are pricks? Wow. I'm feeling charitable, so I'll help you (and anyone searching for this question) out. I did get a mom...

Re: Old School Skill Gain
For some reason, I remember this as a pre-T2A thing, and I always thought it was one of those "eat food to gain skill faster" things. Does it only impact skills by making it harder? Or theoretically, if no one's on practicing the skill I am, would it become easier than it currently is to g...
