Re: Some suggested changes for Accuracy!

any thoughts on stocking amounts? I belive it's pretty well established that they did double when sold out, and halve when not sold out. I do seem to recall them starting at 9 at least at one time, I don't know if it would even have been documented if there had been a later change to this. Do we kn...

Re: Multiclienting Compromise?

Multiclienting, imo, was like cable back in the day: technical and monetary limitations kept its use to a minimum. We should answer the question, "should multiclienting be limited?" kinda like we do "should cable be limited?" No, let's be clear here. Broadband adoption amongst g...

Same one you connect to. Assuming you're running razor, though, you can just type "-ping" while playing and it'll run a quick series of pings and show you the results.

Re: Carpet bombing, should there be limits to this?

If someone has more than a few hundred items on a single tile like this, I question the legitimacy of purpose. What are you really trying to accomplish with 500, 1000, or more items on a single z-level on a single tile? you are trying to grief someone. Its not illegal. "Legitimate" and &q...

Re: multiple clients (was split)

I can tell you right now whats going to happen. You won't stop PKing. Instead of using 7x mages, they'll do what I did. Work a character to 100 wep skill, tacs, anat which is quick and easy, and run around with a vanq and 2 healers/gaters. If it dies in heavy stat delete and do over since it takes ...

Re: multiple clients (was split)

Most people had 2 accounts on OSI as well . That, I don't believe is true at all. Ditto. I knew a good number of people with 2, 3, and more accounts, but they were not the majority. The majority of multi-accounters fell into a few categories: particularly strong addicts, those with to much real-lif...

Re: Carpet bombing, should there be limits to this?

You can only place so many items in a container. If how many items per tile was limited, where would the extra crap go? vanish? If this happens I hope there is a proper announcement so wanted items are not lost when doing this trick for positive reasons. If someone has more than a few hundred items...

Re: multiple clients (was split)

I firmly believe that those most hostile to the concept of restriction to one client are mostly sociopaths who cannot fulfill their need to hurt others in the real world. I don't feel much need to accommodate their neuroses. I actually facepalmed while reading this paragraph. How on earth you ever ...

Re: multiple clients (was split)

As much as many might think otherwise, multi clients were around and still are in the main stream UO. Sure they had to pay to have another account and I know many that did. EA didnt care as long as they had your money :D Pretty sure it is illegal... True multiclienting (two clients on one computer)...

Re: multiple clients (was split)

I can imagine how it was ten years ago was pretty fun, but I think it's a matter of actually getting people to stay. Frankly, if it takes unchecked sociopaths to keep the shard populated, I no longer care if it's populated. I also imagine back then there were millions of people with constant intera...

Ah, right, sorry, dunno where my brain was. Carry on, then!

(Actually I'm still not wild about the precedent, I'd really rather not come home to such a disaster perpetrated by, say, felix.)

Re: Capet bombing, should there be limits to this?

As best I remember, items from axed containers falling to the same z-level is accurate (in fact, I seem to remember this as an occasionally-seen area-denial tactic, though not through lag: dropping a hundred or so objects that can't be walked over on each tile could be used to effectively deny acces...

Anti-gravity shirts.

REPORTED ISSUE: Anti-gravity shirts. ISSUE DETAILS: I tailored a whole mess of fancy shirts in my house. Exact number in the pile is uncertain, but the stack on the tile I was standing on definitely hit the maximum and started dropping them at the lowest level. Normally with items stacked on a singl...

Re: 1000+ skill points???

To provide an actual explanation, in the T2A era (and actually in all eras before the truly epic dumbing down that was AOS), many skills are affected by stats -- some to a huge degree. Your "displayed" skill is your real skill plus stat modifiers. Spread across all the stat-affected skills...

Re: Dire Wolves & Frenzied Ostards

Are the dire wolves aggroing on anyone? I'm at work atm, but since we're on the subject, I remember dire wolves and possibly other animals chasing after you. Doesn,t seem like that happens very often here if at all. Of course I could just be imagining things. Of the things generally considered &quo...
