Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

Hey NP, at first I was advocating what you feared. In retrospect, just having the 1 IP logged in limitation would be a HUGE step in the right direction. The only hurdle would be the very small group of users that play from the same router - and really, exceptions could easily be made, with the threa...

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

At this point there aren't many people supporting 1 account per IP, just 1 account logged in per IP.

That means all the work you put into those other accounts would still be there.

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

As someone said, if you play with your 2 stepsons exceptions could surely be made. It would be easy to tell if someone was lying about playing with family. And yeah, in response to archaic - the sense of entitlement you have is ridiculous. Compensation? For what? For playing for free as much as you ...

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

See I disagree. Judging by the response to this thread thus far, I see few (actually, not any) individuals saying they would outright quit if such a policy was enforced. Furthermore, their "hard work" would not be put to waste - they would still have all of the wealth and skills on their o...

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

I'm really glad for the response this thread is getting. There is a LOT more consensus than I thought there would be. Seriously, if Derrick limited it to 1 active login at a time this server would improve dramatically. I sincerely hope this thread isn't just brushed aside. I relish the opportunity t...

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

Though I am a purist and would prefer only 1 account per person, I can definitely agree that 1 login at a time would go the majority of the way to increasing the experience TREMENDOUSLY. 1 login at a time would definitely be a great compromise - I would play here if that was the rule in effect. That...

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

Again, ghost camping is just one minor problem. It is a symptom of simultaneous logins, not the entire disease. There's ghost camping, archer turrets, complete self-sufficiency (not at all era accurate), no reliance on others, lack of community, overdense real estate, etc. EDIT: And yes it would be ...

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

i agree, ghosting spawns is lame. i wish people wouldnt do it. but the fact is, there isnt a way to stop it, so adapt to it. its really not that big of a deal. It's not just ghosting spawns, though. It's everyone having a potion maker, a blacksmith and a GM whatever-the-hell else they want. Each wi...

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

@Smelly Ira: Trust me, the real oldschool UO is 10x better than this. I'd wager 90% of the people that run multiple accounts are people like you - those that do it just because to NOT do it is to play at a huge, crippling disadvantage. Take away that requirement and everyone can be on an even playin...

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

Geez, there you go - if people want to run more than one account, limit it at 2 and require a fee for the second account.

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

That's my opinion as well.

Actual demand for items and resources, more real estate, more player interaction, actual consequences for actions...

Old school UO all over again. If only it would happen I'd be in UO heaven.

Re: Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

Right, I can see the multiple user household thing being an issue. But really, how common IS that occurence? The amount of single-household multiple-user groups has to be very miniscule. In that event, individual exceptions can be made. It should be pretty easy to determine which people are legitima...

Second Age & Simultaneous Account Login

I used to play on this server a while back, I was pretty much a noob. I played for around a month I believe. One of the main things that made me quit was the fact that you could run like 3-4 accounts at the same time. Which is a very bad policy. I realize it makes it look like more people are playin...
