Re: Speech parsing
Exactly
I might use that whisper trick for now though. It's a good idea.
Hopefully this isn't too hard to fix. Though I admit it's low priority

Speech parsing
I don't know if this has been brought up before or not. Back in the day I used to make my Vendor buy / Vendor sell macro's a little more interesting. Such as "Hail vendor I'd like to purchase some goods!" On OSI servers this would manage to get parsed out as "Hail vendor purchase"...

Re: This whole Era Accurate Argument
Well the shard is great and I think any improvements from here on out will be relatively small. It feels about as close to T2A as I could expect (where do I find the UO demo, I really want to check if spears count as bladed lol) I think any proponent of change is actually paying you a compliment bec...

Re: This whole Era Accurate Argument
I kinda felt the response was a final word too as it kind of summed up what we were debating with an official statement. Good arguments here and like I was saying earlier it's not like you're denying that there are some inconsistencies Derrick. I haven't tried the events yet myself so I can't commen...

Re: This whole Era Accurate Argument
I have less of a problem with them having contradictions in their stated objective. In fact I like how they stand up and admit they do. I suppose as some knightly code they shouldn't hold those two ideas at the same time but they have a point. Events could vary shard to shard. So there is some flexi...

Re: This whole Era Accurate Argument
Does molasses dry? I dunno somehow we made it work. Though doing the whole RP thing we didn't use mounts at all so my memory may be tainted by that. Actually I think melee fighting is a little easier on foot. At least for timing your insta-hits. Depends on the weapon you're using though. Plus the an...

Re: This whole Era Accurate Argument
Oh I'm not saying no one used them. Even I did sometimes back in the day. They just weren't as prevalent as they seem to be here. Maybe there was some reason other than lag. From my experience on Catskills even the mass of PK's or PK Hunters (we were reds ourselves) that would assault the Orc fort w...

Re: This whole Era Accurate Argument
Just to clear it up, I didn't come post this because I saw contradictions. I posted because I wanted to know if houses were considered too much of a departure and if so what constitutes too far. Like we were saying earlier. Even if this server got it 100% right there is no way to get back the pre-Te...

Spears
Does anyone recall whether spears counted as bladed items?
I used spears all the time on my Orc RP on Catskills during T2A and I remember getting kindling and being able to get wool with at least the long spear.

Re: This whole Era Accurate Argument
I agree Faust.
This shard is special and a welcome addition.
It's hard to design games and I think the failures in other shards that change things show that.

Re: This whole Era Accurate Argument
I've heard you over and over, and I know what you're saying, I just don't care. Most of your posts are abundant in snide insinuations that the people here are changeophobes who are just ignorant to what we are doing or what our possibilties are. It's condescending whether you intend it or not. My a...
