I really have to agree with the OP here. Please don't remove guild chat. I know I'm a very small minority here, but I'm running UOSA on my macbook pro through crossover games. My attempts to get UOAM running have not been.... positive. I know, small minority, but it does make a difference for me.

I'll be out of game for a few, my laptop went boom on Friday. I'll have to load it on another computer, or whenever a new computer heads my way.
