Re: Era accuracy... and then what?
Problem being, where do you stop? This shard has already chosen the slippery slope. You've cherry picked the Nov 23, 1999 update: veterinary changes (and only part of them, since veterinary is still applying to humanoid creatures -- something Derrick is grudgingly fixing) and no weight limit on ban...

Re: Era accuracy... and then what?
Bandage market is gone if you made them cut as a stack. Guess you didn't think of that? Now before you go suggesting all these "little" changes think of all the other things you didn't think of. Seriously? You are worried about the bandage market drying up? NPCs sell regs at reasonable pr...

Re: Era accuracy... and then what?
We wouldn't want it any other way. So you believe that every single change OSI made after November 1999 was horrible and ruined the game? There are plenty of minor things that I'm sure everyone can admit were positive changes and barely have any impact on game balance. Cutting bandages as a stack L...

Re: Dedicated ghosters/trackers
no need to trash the accounts imo. the "one connection per ip"-rule would solve many issues and automatically lead to a surplus of interaction. trouble is, everybody will claim that wifey, father, son, brother or imaginary friend is also playing and they need an exemption. So you don't be...

Re: Assorted Taming Bugs
Do you have a date on this? This was addressed previously and it was understood that there was no check on transfer in our target timeframe. May 25th 1999: http://update.uo.com/design_22.html "Transfer and friending actually do two loyalty checks--one for the old owner and one for the new. Bot...

Re: Joined a week ago but considering leaving...
Having looked at both the suggestions and bugs forum, there is a great deal of activity from Derrick regarding bugs in the bugs forum, and Derrick spends the time to confirm that he has read and will change something to make it accurate when a thread provides fairly conclusive evidence in the sugge...

Re: Joined a week ago but considering leaving...
If you have a concern regarding the operation of a specific skill, please review other accuracy threads on the skill, and if you feel the issues with the skill are still unresolved, then posting a thread regarding the issue in the accuracy forum would be the best course of action. We can't fix some...

Re: Joined a week ago but considering leaving...
1) I swear I'm back in 1998 listening to the same people who destroyed everything that was fun about UO. And what was fun for you? Ganking, griefing, scamming, and killing newbs who obviously had nothing? No one is asking for Trammel here. However, this ruleset offers nothing for the segment of pla...

Re: Assorted Taming Bugs
We had this [guarded] stuff working, I'm not sure what changed. You cannot guard yourself or anything in a guarded area, and if in a guarded area you'll never see [guarded]. I'm not sure why you're getting the "this cannot be guarded by a pet or hireling." message, definately not the corr...

Re: Joined a week ago but considering leaving...
The problem here are the new players marmelade. Players that have no idea of what a hally/wrestling timer is. Players that dont come to the forums that often(maybe never). Why do PKs kill people like that? People that arent even on horses? To take some NPC weapon and some apples and trash them? Wha...

Re: Joined a week ago but considering leaving...
Maybe Napa was different from the shards the rest of you guys are from, but I didn't immediately assume the next person I saw was going to PK me like I do here. My first dungeon experience in UO was at the ogre lords in Wrong where everyone took turns blade spiriting and chatting. Here, my first dun...

Re: Assorted Taming Bugs
The guard command doesn't work. All it seems to do is make your pet grey (wrong, pet should stay blue) or green. The owner does not get a [guarded] tag next to their name (I could have swore I saw this tag not that long ago, but it must have been with a hireling and not a pet). Pets should say "...

Re: Wyrm, dragon, and other follower speeds
Some of these changes to tamers seem to be published on a "take my word for it" basis. I have to wonder if the current follow speed wasn't pushed to give PvPers/PKs an advantage against tamers. I don't know because I wasn't there. All I know is that I feel defenseless unless someone is st...

Re: Creature Respawn and Spawn Accuracy
For what it's worth, a lot of spawns differed from shard to shard. So to say that there were definitively the same exact 5 nightmare spots on all production shards in 1999 is likely incorrect. Based on what? Were you taming Nightmares in 1999? Unlike most people on this shard, I was. I was also act...
