Re: Opening a can of worms ...
I rarely check the forums anymore, and frankly, this is an old and very contentious issue that hasn't been touched in years - and I don't really want to get into it again. Thus, the comments below will be as brief as possible but will try to explain some of the agreed upon facts regarding combat. Be...

Re: Stablemaster NPC Suggestion
I don't have any knowledge of how our UOSA's scripts are put together in terms of AI. All I know is that the current AI has been described that way by Derrick in the past. As for what we should do to correct the overall behavior regarding movement, that is an answer that is mostly buried within the ...

Re: Stablemaster NPC Suggestion
Much of the AI for NPCs in general is contained in the core of the demo itself, and is difficult to extract as a result. Much of what is in place here on UOSA is the product of Derrick effectively hacking the RunUO code into something that tries to resemble what we see in the demo, but there is litt...

Re: Spell Interrption:
Well, what information we have regarding whether a person is or isn't at "full life" suggests that if the person is poisoned, has a debuff attached to them, or later if they were paralyzed, then they weren't considered to be at "full life". In most respects, this is relatively ea...

Re: Spell Interrption:
You suggest that "removeCallback(this, 0x80);" be inserted into the Q5NC "disrupted, yes" check, rather than simply added into Q4AR. Without offering offense, may I ask after the reasoning; is it merely to keep Q4AR streamlined? SS This is basically so that the proper code only ...

Re: Spell Interrption:
Q4AR is invoked from 2 locations, callback 0x80 and from the disruption code. In normal operation, callback 0x80 calls Q4AR, and as a result effectively "cleans up" the cast timer, as the callback is triggered at the end of the cast time and never sets up a second callback (callbacks can s...

Re: Spell Interrption:
Ok. I'll review what my best knowledge was at the time that most of these changes took place on UOSA, and the things that were discovered since then regarding the behavior of disrupts on the demo. So far as I know, these discoveries were never introduced into the UOSA mechanics in any form, and the ...

Re: Spell Interrption:
If you're interested, I can provide a detailed set of information regarding what is known about spell interruption in the demo when time allows. I suspect that what is in place on UOSA is based on very old information that hasn't been properly updated

Re: Tinker Menu Gump
Here is an old thread on the subject with a response from Derrick on the issue of tinker menus, where he links to an older response on the issue. Comparing the original hypothesis linked by Derrick, I suspect that the last response by Faust in the linked thread is the right assessment of the situat...

So long, and thanks for all the fish.
It is with a significant twinge in my heart that today, I am announcing my retirement from my administrative position on UOSA. This particular decision does not come easily to me, but an analysis of my position over the last couple of years, and particularly of the last few months has left me feelin...

Ok, look. I understand that players want to comment on whether YewFriends/Cavewight is or isn't a scammer, but this isn't the thread to do it in. Lets save those types of posts for the relevant trade topics, or for the trash talk forum. As for the question of this thread, it's been answered as thoro...

Re: Now that the population is close to zero . . .
I know that it's been some time since the posts were made, but I think that we should probably keep any serious ideas about buying the features and mechanics we want off of the forums, and to ourselves. What is or isn't on the server isn't for sale to the highest bidder(s). When someone says to you...

Re: Archery weapon range bug
There's little that I can do to fix the problem directly. Both Boomland and I have spoken with Anarcho about this, as well as many other bugs/fixes, but ultimately, whether a fix gets rolled out for any particular mechanic rests on his shoulders and has to conform to his schedule.

Re: House Deeds Decay in Houses Fair Warning
Regarding the accuracy house deeds rapidly decaying, this is indeed correct. The patch note this was first introduced in was the April 14th 1999 patch notes as a note at the bottom: Note: House Deeds purchased after April 16th House deeds that are purchased off of npcs will be considered newbie item...
