Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

It is not.

Is it not conversely unreasonable to have your stance in allowing full and utter exploitation and ruinous habits running wild as well?

We both obviously both take gaming "seriously" as we seem to represent polar opposites, but which one preserves and which one destroys, huh?

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

Whats more unreasonable? Allowing and justifying cheating because of convienence and non-productive desire, or simple, pure enjoyment?

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

So, is he saying this would never happen due to the lack of practicality of it, outlined by the reasons or because he never would allow it on principle? The two are completely different. I know it is practical; I just don't know if this resistance to that point in general is blind and erred in its t...

Re: Petition to get UoH back up and running.

On one side, letting it die might be a good thing; but on the other: It would be a great loss to the community. If the community as a whole can survive without it, then people might be able to build off of its foundation into something new and better. Otherwise, let it live, its your choice; not ours.

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

"It is kind of lame that we are arguing over something that will never happen on this server." Derrick has never once said that it would not make it in, that is you seeing what you want to see. What he is clearly stating is factual situational circumstances which may undo the effort perscr...

Re: Flying Creatures

Heres a good place to start if you ever want to do any demo research, or look into things that may catch your curiosity.

Re: Flying Creatures

You know, its weird; I don't remember this at all; but it seems like one of those things you overlook and take for granted at the time.

Have you checked to see if its in the demo yet?

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

I find it rediculous your comparing main-line UO with UOSA, there was money to be made there, there is no money to be made here, so theres no reason to keep updating it (a program for people to work around the proposed one). You just don't understand the psychology, the common possibility that would...

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

Thats assuming I don't know thats possible already alex... I have quite a bit of experience reverse engineering stuff myself, so I know what I would do as well. You are also assuming that this program wont be updated or changed or any other added security measures, which if you want to keep distribu...

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

A month is alot of work, especially when theres no money to be made from your actions. Most people would just lose interest and move on to another shard (as they always threaten and do) instead of bothering, if they really felt like that (why would it be so important to them?). By your logic, there ...

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

You can check for altered internet/proxy settings in windows, easy enough (thats the good part about being present on the user's frontend): If someone is using a proxy or vpn or something weird, program gives them a blue screen (or just closes with a message) :P ;-) I was just thinking just a hashin...

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

I believe it is, and it is much easier, simpler and effective then you or Kaivan imagines, as long as the shard itself is taking part in such synchronizations/transactions. (Which is why the shard would need to be involved). I mean, how do you work around a program that doesn't allow any other progra...

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

But how can the game evolve if it is inherently static in nature and can not change itself? Thats like saying your shard can evolve itself, when in reality its only a bunch of variables and methods (and structs) which serve and do not have any function other then that. What your talking about is mor...

Re: A programme to ensure we are all playing the same game.

That is true Light shade, that is true. But multi-tasking is the Devil :P ;-) I don't wish to assume innocent, but its not assuming guilty either. If you have control issues, that's understandable, but control issues are the problem here and people who think they can take what they want, however the...
