I've looked through the forums but I couldn't find anything on this....
I GM'd Swords macroing on a bear, healing the bear with another char.
This got me to 95.3 tactics.
I switched over to wrestling after I GM'd swords. (It was at about 44)
I am now at 63 wrestling and have not gained ONE POINT in tactics, its been over an hour.
I am hitting with the wrestling as I know you have to connect to make it check the skill.
Am I doing something wrong?

the wrestling skill has to be closer to the tactics skill level for tactics to raise..
also a bear might work, never tried one, but an npc is better...

keep using swords on the bear and it should raise tactics.
I would recommend going to the tavern just south of West Brit Bank and hiring an npc there.
Just say "hire" and drop 100 gold on the dude and say all follow me.
then just say all guard me, start hitting him, say all stay, he will stop and you will continue to swing, just keep him healed.
You can do this in town, just be careful for griefers. I think if you stay in the tavern you should be fine.
Theives will be a problem though.
