Guild Ranks

Post by Light Shade »

Main Titles:
  • Guildmaster
The Guildmaster, leads and maintains the guild. The position is likely to remain the same, however, should the need arise for another to take over, the position would be given to a War Lord.
  • War Lord
The title of War Lord is given to those who have proven themselves to be active, loyal, and involved Members of the Guild. War Lords are viewed as leaders of the Guild and will have many of the same resources and privileges of the Guildmaster so that they may better help the guild.

War Lords are expected to help run the guild with recruitment and maintaining player activity.

    Requirements:
Unlike other ranks, the title War Lord does not have specific criteria. Instead, the title will only be given to a select few who have proven to be involved and exceptional members of the guild. They will be viewed as a peer of the Guildmaster, and as such, shall conduct themselves according to their rank.
  • Knight
With much of the focus of the Dungeon Guards being to protect new players and other innocents, there will always be a need for those capable of defending themselves and others. The Knights of the Dungeon Guards are the members who have proven themselves to be capable PvP’ers. These are those who will be counted upon to defend our Members and Allies should the need arise.

While the Knights of the Dungeon Guards will play an important role within the guild, it should be noted that the only benefit over being normal members, is that they may be invited into a Warlord’s Meeting, but will not be allowed to vote on Guild Issues. The title exists mainly to distinguish those who are and are not willing and prepared to fight.

    Requirements:
In order to become a Knight of the Dungeon Guards, a member must prove themselves to be an experienced PvP’er. The candidate must defeat an existing Knight of the Dungeon Guards in a Trial by Combat in order to ascend to the rank. This ensures that only our most capable will be given the title of Knight in the Dungeon Guards.
  • Guard
After some time has been spent in the guild, an “Initiate” that has proved to be active and well established member of the Guild will become a Full Member of the Guild.

All members will be put on the Friends List of the Guild Hall and Guild Tower, if possible. If you are a member and have not been friended, please contact the Guildmaster.

    Requirements:
In addition to some time and activity spent within the guild, the candidate must be able to stay in contact and be involved with the rest of the guild. As such, it is required to have and use our IRC Channel: #DG and to have signed our Guild Roster (located here in the Guild Forum) before one can become a full member of the guild. We also ask that members of the guild download Ventrilo and log into our server. You do not need a Microphone, but sometimes just being able to listen to what is going on can make things much easier.
  • Initiate
An Initiate is one who has recently been brought into the Guild. New members who have just been added to the guild will receive the title of “Initiate” and will keep this title until the Guildmaster decides to advance them. One must simply abide by the guild rules in order to stay in the guild as an “Initiate.”
  • Deserter
While not an actual rank in the Dungeon Guards, another title that may be seen is that of Deserter. Should a member become Inactive without notice for an extended period of time, they will be temporarily given this title as a final warning before being removed from the stone. Should anyone receive this title, be sure to contact the Guildmaster or a War Lord, in order to return to your status as a member of the guild.

Merchant Titles:
  • Merchant (Alchemy, Arms Lore, Blacksmithy, Bowcrafting, Carpentry, Inscription, Poisoning, Tailoring, Tinkering, Item ID, etc)
  • Shopkeeper (Only for players running vendors located in DG Town)
Specialty Titles:
  • Treasure Hunter (Cartography, Lockpicking, etc...)
  • Tracker (Tracking)
  • Scout (Detect Hidden)
  • Fisher
  • Supplier (Mining, Lumberjacking)
  • Shepherd/Wrangler (Taming, Lore, Herding, Veterinary)
  • Troubadour/Minstrel (Musicianship, Provoking, Peacemaking, Enticement)

Misc. Titles:
Other titles may be granted solely at the discretion of the Guildmaster.

Governing Body:
The Guildmaster and War Lords will form a Council that will govern the activities of the Dungeon Guards. All important decisions, including acceptance into the guild, will be taken into a Council Meeting and put to a vote. Knights of the Dungeon Guards may be invited to participate in Council meetings at the sole discretion of Council, but will have no vote. Only in case of a tied vote, the Guildmaster’s vote will count double to break the tie. The Guildmaster’s vote will not count double in any other instance.
