Our Purpose

We are a guild of blacksmiths, most of us are also miners, united in a common cause to improve the professions that we care so much for and to ensure that they are treated properly and fairly in any future changes to them. We are here to prevent all the mistakes of the past and to remind all smiths not to forget those mistakes, lest we repeat them. We are here to help our fellow smiths, whether they be in the guild or not by providing wisdom and encouragement during times of great need, when gaining the last tenth of a point to achieve Grandmaster smith seems like it is too hard and that you simply can't do it and when you lose everything you own, everything you are and simply can no longer see a reason to keep on going. We shall support you and give you the strength to stand again and keep going.

Our unity is undoubtedly our greatest strength. It gives us the voices and diversity of opinion that we need to make clear, well thought out decisions on issues that face the blacksmithing and mining community and bring forth these answers to those who would listen to us. Where others have not the courage to cry out on negative changes to our profession, we find the courage to do so and we represent our professions with pride and professionalism. For us, it is not enough to simply be a smith. We want to be involved in our profession, how it takes shape, how it changes and how it affects Britannia and all it's citizens. We are not a group of elitists seeking only to further our own ends but rather we seek to help all the citizens of Britannia whenever possible, we have contested changes that might make us more profit because it would harm the average citizen because we would be forced to increase our prices.

We provide a warm home on each shard for all smiths to rest in when they are not smithing and converse with their fellow smiths on the day's events and the latest hints and tips from around the forge. We try to enrich the lives of smiths of every shard by running contests and festivals to lure them away from the forge for a night to have a good time and take a break from smithing, we hold competitions to see whom amongst all the smiths on the shard is the best and they are given a prize for their skill. Most importantly though, we try to help out those in need when we can both in material assistance and advice when any member falls upon hard times. We strive to make it so no smith ever feels alone anymore but rather knows that there is a place that he can always go for help when he needs it, companionship when he grows weary of the loneliness of the forge of his own home and advice should he ever have a hard time with a particular area of smithing or mining.

I maintain this page and this site as a valuable resource for all smiths to get the information they need, when they need it and that it is the latest information available. The Shardmasters maintain shard pages containing the latest up-to-date news on any happenings on your shard that are related to blacksmithing or mining. I take our cause directly to OSI and our concerns and grievances, almost on a daily basis where it is heard and listened to. You will find the latest news related to smithing and mining here, upcoming changes to our profession and our suggestions for our profession as well as polls on topics that interest all smiths.

This guild is a monument to remind us that we can no longer afford the mistakes of the past. We changed smithing and mining forever but in doing so, we paid a terrible price indeed. Our professions will never be the same again no matter how much changes but we stand here as guardians from now until eternity, to ensure that it doesn't get any worse and that it only gets better. We can never forget the past, lest we repeat it again. Things may change time and time again but this guild will survive and change with it when it is needed. When we succeed, we succeed together and when we fail, we fail together. It is upto us, the smiths, to build the future of our profession because while the powers that be may think they know what is best for us, they don't practice or play a smith regularly. We do and as such it upto us to inform them of our opinions, desires, likes and dislikes. That is what we are here for.
