Razor game size issues anyone?
I just started testing out the game size thingy in Razor, at first I was impresed on how well it worked but (check pic bellow) sometimes it draws some odd black triangles/lines whatever you want to call them, this only happens if I make the toon run either to the left or right side of the screen.
Idk if its a "lag"/loadspeed issue that causes this, but if you have experienced the same issue and got rid of it or made it so it happens less often, please let me know.
Maybe the Razor thingy doesn't work well and I should just use 800x600 and change the resolution on my OS?
I use 1000x720 as the game size in razor.
Thanks for you time.

I've had this happen when I force the screen too large. I've had decent success keeping my screen around 1150x900, but it may vary depending on the computer, for all I know. I would just try out different settings until you find a size that works.

This is a problem with older clients such as the UOSA default client.
If you have a bit of know how with editing UO files I recommend downloading a newer version of UO.
Earliest version is 7.0.7.1 for the large screen fix.

I'll try that out, and... I just noticed I posted this at the The Crossroads Tavern? I swear I remember posting it at "Second Age Discussion", odd...Rose wrote:This is a problem with older clients such as the UOSA default client.

Re: Razor game size issues anyone?
I was unnable to make it work with any 7.0 versions since the whole world was just fucked up (either it crashed at a certain point, bald naked people everywhere, crazy colors even without touching the hue files, etc), I did a lot of client combinations between them trying to find a decent "hybrid". On the other I was able to discard what causes the problem atleast for me and what is the "solution".
As Apocalypse mentions you need to find your "best config", I'm pretty sure it should work fine on 1024x768, altho it will still be doing that once in a while since when you do this it is extremely and I repeat EXTREMELY subjected to how laggy you are, if you experience a bit of lag it will paint that once in a while but if the server is overall laggy and you experience the classic "horse freezes" every 4-5 secs (which I atleast do have at nightime here***) then I'll recommend you to switch your screen resolution and go back to 800x600.
Hope someone will find this helpful, someday...
I've readed some post from earlier this month (before I even started to play) that infact we are facing lag issues so I hope that when we are less laggy this will fix by itself.
***Specially when the server gets 100+ people since in my mornings with 20+ guys it runs super smooth and I don't experience that at all.

When I said UO file editing, I mean you need to edit art and map files quite a lot.
Using the UOSA map files will help with most of the errors, the rest need to be fixed with an art editing program (UOfiddler) and a world builder.

I tried that a bit... and I think I'm gonna stay with it as it is... too much work for too little...Rose wrote:When I said UO file editing, I mean you need to edit art and map files quite a lot.

Found a fix for this, altho idk to what extent it will be legit to use it on this shard. If you "chop" all trees from the world (which makes it look like a deadland tbh), the world "loading" times seem to lower to the point the black thingies never show up except when the server is quite populated and laggy.Tristan wrote:I tried that a bit... and I think I'm gonna stay with it as it is... too much work for too little...Rose wrote:When I said UO file editing, I mean you need to edit art and map files quite a lot.

If its legit to use it on the server, since is a heavy modification of sosarian enviroment (lol), let me know and i'll share it.

It's frowned upon but not illegal. Worm gave me his file and it was great. Ran flawless but I built a new rig and for whatever reason I cannot get tree hack to work. Won't let me open the game.
