Hi !
Whats the best way to raise magic resist from 94ish to gm? I have gm magery.

just keep casting FS on myself(outside GZ ofc) or is there a more effective way like meteor swarm(with another player) or hire a couple of mages and let them cast on me while im inside GZ.
thanks

Resist sessions are normally the best way :)

the resist (meteor) session is the best way, but you really need a group of 4 or 5 people at least. The next best method would be using the hired mages, but I do not believe this works with you standing in town anymore, so you will have to get yourself a healer. I was told to use wisps, and that is how I personally gm'd it. A group of wisps on my porch, 10 or 15 of them, and alot of healing.

Do it outside of town.

the hired mageling trick dont work to well after 93 or so, they just dont cast enough lvl 7 spells to make it worthwhile.

just FS yourself outside of town till gm

best way imo is to raise resist through hirelings till 90 or so then raise magery, should gm both then.

If you survived an attack by 15 wisps....you are a God! But personally , thanks! I didn't think of using wisps...I guess because I had been killed by one as a newb I never thought to attack one again. Attacking the healers as well...great idea.

I tried a few methods and found casting on yourself with FS to be the best unless you can attend a meteor strike session.

Wisps are fine if you can manage to get more than 5 collected from around the globe. Wisp spawn is very low these days and i spent alot of time looking for them and transporting them to my castle. You're talking a few hours to get 4-5 wisps.

As for NPC healers i would do as Naljier said .. gain to 94 or so and then FS yourself to GM.

If you want to do it for 'free' just get a dozen wisps trapped on a boat (collecting wisps by boat is easy, just need to be good with your invising/tabbing out), bring it to a townline, get resist gains without taking damage.

EddieVan posted a video of this in the Guides section, he used mage hirelings but Wisps require no payments and can be found all over the World (no need to deal with the Wind gating nonsense)

It's suck when you're a grandmaster scholar already . It's might cost a lot more bandage :p. Humm actually i was thinking about that and not really (answering my own question lol)

since if you cast flamestrike you don't want to go below 50 Hps anyway. So yer Macro is set to something like If Hps >- 80 cast Flamestrike and ye just put a healer perma healing each 6 seconds.

But i was thinking about that.Does resist make that much of difference? SInce anyway has a mage if you farm. You just spam EV and and use invisiblity and get the final blow.In PVp you it's mostly heal and greater heal.Yes i guess it can be a life saver if you get a nice combo in yer ass.But if you get a very well timed combo in yer ass .. you're prob going down anyway .. with 100 or 50 resist. That why i want to know the formula.Because t2a resist is different than present uo.

Resist makes a huge difference. In PvM and PvP.

resist parties use alot of people because meteor swarm spreads the damage over the targets within a general area so it keeps damage low and is great for newly generated characters. If you have the resources to have a healer on hand have magery yourself or have another mage casting on you who's wearing heavy armor to slow mana regen you should be safe enough to even cast high level spells to up your resist. Or you can hang around magic casting creatures. When I traveled more solo I used the evil tree magic casting Reapers as I could always run away and it didn't cost me anything to raise resist at low levels. Then I used gargoyles, and then I used the demons in the hedge maze especially as the hedge maze offers protection from melee and its easy to get away.
Another way early on is either casting firefield yourself or have another do so and you can run through it to raise resist "though it targets the caster grey so if you can cast it yourself all the better"
