Blocking Monsters With Boxes

Hey guys, I have a couple questions. I have noticed that you can not block most monsters with locked boxes on sacks of flour or whatever like you used to be able to when i played. I was wondering if there is anything still that you can use to block monsters.

Now my next question. I am working taming. I just hit 87 and started taming hell hounds. I figured out you can still block them with boxes but everytime i get set up about 30 minutes into the macro my boxes just disappear. I have no idea why this happens but I am wondering if there is something i can do to keep them refreshed without actually moving them. I was thinking maybe adding to my macro a part that uses the key to lock and unlock it every so often but i still dont know if that would even work. I want to be able to set up a macro with my tamer and a healer that i can leave afk for time periods but im not sure if its going to be possible. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried revealing after a box disappears? I know there are a good number of stealthers who go AFK or log in the hell hound room, just to grief people trying to GM their taming. Sometimes it pays to GM taming "the hard way" (which is actually the easy way, because you won't run into as many griefers)

certain mobs destroy boxes I've noticed. in destard, drakes/dragons eat boxes. I'm pretty sure this is era-accurate, though. I remember boxes only being usable pre-t2a.

So, only certain monsters destroy boxes. I have no idea if this is accurate or not. I don't think it is, I think none of them did, but whatever. Someone else can look that up.

Your boxes are disappearing because they're decaying. Items on the ground decay based on their weight; heavier boxes/bags/items will take longer to decay.

You can either fill your boxes with hides or cotton or something to make them heavier... or do what I did, which is to put two boxes on each tile, and then every 15 minutes or so, pick up the bottom box on each tile, watch as the top one drops down (nothing will get in while you do this), and then place the one you're dragging back on the pile so it's on top. This will refresh both items' decay timers.

Also, Pro-Tip: never tell people you're macroing in the HH room. Expect to be PKed, looted, and have your boxes taken constantly at this point.

Make sure to trap boxes!! then you can talk to the person who PKed yoU!! LOL I mean OoOoo

If you stuff yourself in the correct corner, (i forget, its been monrhts, i think the lower top right corner.

you can use 1 account to bandage, 1 account to tame, and 1 account to hide and block spawns.
