You're assuming magics/pots tournys mikel. Oct regularly wins matches, and often enough tournys, without magic weaps/pots.

It's a well built template for what it is, but clearly wouldn't have survived in era (without these special daily tournaments).

I haven't fought oct on a dexer yet, but I suspect she wouldn't do well against anything but a mage/crappy dexer.

I was thinking of doing something like...
Archery 80
Swords 100
Anatomy 80
Healing 100
Resist 90
Tactics 100
Magery 90
Evaluating Intelligence 60

100 strength 50 intelligence 75 dexterity

I'm not assuming anything. In fact, you're better off fighting that template in a non-magics tournament, because in a magic tournament he'll just pop on a reflect item in sudden death and now you're really effed.

Look, you guys do your tank mage nonsense, I don't propose to tell you how to play it. Enough of you know that template and its ins and outs. But I have played the archer template, and can tell you it was most annoying for me when people cast Wall of Stone.

Oh he is talking a tournament template?
Do people still log on just for tourneys?

Twice, actually. Once to a ghoul's touch halberd which is pretty much self-explanatory when used by a dexxer.

The "box-archer" template is pretty easy to dispatch, the real issue here is the ability to hold gheal while applying bandages. You have to actually think outside the box to win this fight, but it can be done relatively easily.

The wall of stone trick is effective but somewhat unnecessary unless you've wasted 50%+ of your mana and need a moment to recover. If you know how to effectively manage your mana, you shouldn't run out unless you take 4+ consecutive hits.

Also the magic reflection items are easily countered, by either a mindblast spell (must know mechanics here) or by a simple earthquake scroll, of which neither spell can be reflected.

Right, I thought of EQ last night... easy to cast between 5 second bolts I guess, if he's napping.

Mind Blast ain't gonna cut it against 100 INT, I don't think.

Correct, Octavianna has 100 intel.

My archer template. Basically every archery template is going to be gimped in someway, that's the cost of using the most powerful weapon in the game (heavy xbow). You just need to figure out how you want to play your archer, make it and try it out. Make adjustments as needed.

I'm confused. You lost to a ghoul's touch halberd from someone who doesn't have the swords skill, who is also a dexer with 25 dex?

Oct has changed her template many times, she used to have swords and at least 80 dex.

Ah got it, thanks.

Anyways, I'll be playing this template as well for the future, until you clowns figure out how to beat it. It's just not fun to spend 10 minutes chasing someone around even a small box with a dexer.

It's amazing how people still think chasing someone is a valid strategy..

I don't even know what that means...

It was pretty effective for me, but it's kind of tedious and you end up going to sudden death a lot and being underprepared for the next match.

That might be the reason most of your matches are going to sudden death.

You speak about tourneys here ? I cant even count the times i got chased by you and your patrol in Dungeons. So im not sure if i take this very seriously. But i think i would make a mistake to take you seriously in any way ...
