I'll speak on YouthBuild's behalf since I doubt he will revisit this thread (he quit yesterday after this happened).

From what I was told, he decoded the maps without failing and did a few and they were level 1s.

A scammer prospers and we lose another good player.

I believe forum + irc scammers should not just recieve a ban from forums but be named and shamed with every single one of their chars revealed.

A forum ban is nothing when you are making 1million out of it..

If scam is proven then only way to stop having chars revealed would be returning the scammed items. The forum ban should still be upheld.

UO is a society and sometimes it turns out to be a bad thing.

I do see potential for something else here, though. A bunch of more or less rich players who can contribute, including myself. While I am not rich by the standards of someone like Arsen, I believe we can all play a part in getting YouthBuild back in the game.

I recently donated all my wealth away, which was in excess of four million. After a small hiatus, I came back to play and while I do not have such amounts of gold anymore, I thought that if we can get, say, ten players to help out with donations, we can compensate for the loss here.

I'm opening this with a donation of 100k. If I get three other matching donations by the end of the day, I'll raise mine to 150k. If we get ten donors each worth 150k, we should have replaced the loss.

Some of you are filthy rich and while it is still a work to get that 100k, 150k, whatever you donate, consider that it is only a small amount of your overall assets.

This shard can't afford to lose community contributors, at least not like this. If you are not interested in donating yourself (I understand selfishness in financial matters, don't worry about that) please pass this on if you know anyone who could help out.

The donation pool is a kind idea, but YouthBuild gave everything away yesterday and quit, uninstalled.

I'd like to hope he will come back some day, but it won't be for awhile, if ever.

First I'd like to thank everyone in support of my misfortune. Unfortunately I will not be coming back.

Well the trade between jackal and myself has been ongoing and I offered him a package he couldn't refuse. I did feel something fishy and this is where it all went bad. And an explanation of how I carry myself as a person will offer somewhat of an explanation.

I carry myself trusting in the goodness of people. All those that I've carried business with in the past can definitely agree, I'm sure. How I carry myself in game is how I carry myself as a person. Honestly what I gave him wasn't so much to give a reason to quit. I really should be focused on my studies. But mostly I quit because I didn't want to stress about not trusting in game people. It's hard enough doing that in real life!

I played as t-hunter, doing whatever I can to contribute to the community in terms of weapons and items. I hope I was able to contribute to other's in enjoying the game.

What jackal did was part of the game (I suppose). Unfortunately for me he used forums as his medium of distrust. With that being said, I don't believe he should be banned in game. I hope he enjoys the items! Honestly he did me a favor since I really should be focusing on my studies.

To those that I gave my stuff away. Enjoy it! You're not holding anything for me for I am not coming back.

I'll use this time to say this, I remember playing this game as a sophomore high school back in 2000. For the Past 2.5 years or so, the game has offered me a great stress relief, 2nd only to sex. Most of all I'm glad that I was able to meet great people.

A shout out to my boy Halogen if he's still around, definitely taught me lots about the game

Ragancy, enjoy those items bro! Trust me folks, he knows I quit based on the items he's received (basically everything)

time2a, thank's for the business bro, always honest and it was fun, if there's anything Rags can do for me, just hook him up with the +15 bard of ruin with 29 charges of GT for me

anyone else that I've missed I'd like to say thanks for all the good business that we've done.

Thanks to the staff, great shard! Definitely need to make a donation... And to those that are still conducting business I can say this much, there are still lots of trustworthy people playing this game, just watch your back! Best of luck all in both game and real life! Take care!

Consider it done, bud. Best to you in all you do. Hit me up if you ever decide to play again.
