Healing Timer

Post by Robbbb »

Currently it takes 12 seconds to heal yourself with a bandage and 16 to cure yourself I believe. I dont think this is accurate based on the following research:

December 14 1999:

I bandage myself....and he didn't hit me at all during the 15 seconds and so
was at 70 hp..

Then my 2nd bandage finished (I really like that
you only slip once now..).

April 29 1999:

Healing delays have been adjusted:

Healing someone else now takes 5 seconds. Healing yourself still takes
15 seconds.
Curing poison on someone else now takes 6 seconds. Curing it on
yourself still takes 18 seconds.
The delay for resurrecting with the healing skill is now ten seconds.

March 1 2000:

Don't know if the patch about healing has gone in yet, which might allow a high
dex player to heal faster than 15 seconds.....

November 9 1999:

and every 15 seconds I finish
applying the bandages and pop back up to 100hp :)

September 20 1999:

Heal the mana dump. Bandages work only if you've some way of
interrupting the mana dump, otherwise, 15 seconds is too slow

Just tested healing timers on UOSA at 15 and 18.

On another note: While I appreciate the candor and effort, please check for other threads or information directly from the patch notes before referring to newsgroup posts. They can be a valuable source of information, but they are not necessary for open and shut mechanics such as healing timers (this is not a jab or anything, just a suggestion).

I did check the patch notes and found nothing that had any sort of timing rule written. That is why I found several posts from before our cut-off and after the cut-off.

I will check more thoroughly though.
