Upcoming PvP tournaments

Once the mexicans get off their lazy butts and finish our arena in Aceopolis, we will be hosting a variety of tournaments (hopefully 1 tournament each week)

The question is, what would most of you prefer to have awarded to you as prize? And would you mind paying a entry fee?

No entry fee might draw a bigger crowd.

Why not a mix of both?

have a group of non entry free who pvp for fun...

then have a group of people who pay and the winner gets either a 60/40 cut OR some sort of magic set.

These kinds of events with prizes will draw Many people in, you should setup a ladder chart for those who pay, and if they chose they could enter a skill/stat template as in % of skills and stats so that people are matched by skill, ability is still a toss up though.

i know this is a bit off-topic but we should definitely host some non-pvp events as well.

-Bar room brawls
-Dog/chicken fights
-Races?
-Tamer Wars?

I just thought a few of my head. this would attract a more broad range of players, maybe a thief event. Explo pot duels? Just some ideas, and sorry for the off-topicness..

This thread almost died!

Now that automated pvp tournaments are done, and field fighting is pure 100% gank and if you fuck with ace it's a shitload of pets too. We take our dueling serious though and won't tolerate any bullshit.

WHEN: ???
WHERE: ACE Arena out front of our Mall
WHAT: 1v1 No pots, no poison. NO MAGICS. (Food will be allowed for stamina)
HOW: If you need a rune PM one of us

As for a prize/entry fee, we haven't came to a conclusion yet.

I'd rather have it 70/30. Either way I wish I could turn in these trophies I have to get the last pair of sandles I need. No more 1v1s has really cut off my trophy income.

2 problems

1. Macing is going to rape since only food is allowed, no matter what. After one fight even if someone wins, they will be completely full.

2. Without sudden death, many of these matches will be 20 minutes long and only end because someone ran out of regs...

these are 2 things that the 1v1 tourneys were able to modify to actually make dueling work on this shard, player run tourneys are going to be slightly retarded.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are going to try to make this as fair and fun as possible. We are still discussing some of those key points you mentioned.
