Reading this resurrected thread this morning made me want to give vet training another go. I backburnered training it months ago, and I was at 97 real which is plenty good from a practical standpoint. But like most here, the crack that is GMing a skill is always nice. Anyway, I started healing a couple animals fighting this morning before I went to work. Just got home. Roughly eight hours of vet training and nearly 3k bandages used, I've gone from 97.0 to 97.9. Slow, but the gains don't seem unreasonable at this level of skill.

Gone from 95.6 to 95.8 real today, in 7 hours. Either you got lucky, or I'm doing something wrong.

Interesting. I've gone from 98.3 to 98.9 real today in probably about the exact same amount of time. Maybe it's luck, can't really see what you could be doing wrong.

ARGH

I've got mine going every 6 seconds, too, so I've probably done about 80% more bandages than you :-(

I can only assume that Vet is (incorrectly) difficulty-based? Given that your bears are likely at a lower health when you apply a bandage than mine are...

The reason I switched from 7 seconds to 10 seconds (months ago when I was training vet the first time) was because I was often getting whatever message it is that says something like "this creature is not damaged." That's a waste of a heal and at 10 that seemed to be just long enough where that never happened. Only thing I can think of. I can't imagine that it's difficulty based because I am healing them at like 92% health.

You won't use a bandage when you get that message, FYI.

I don't know of any other explanation... I guess it could be random luck, but two days in a row with what, 24 hours of constant bandages, and you've outgained me about 2.5 to 1. Normally I'd stat-test this, but it's a long weekend. No statistics til Tuesday... by which time hopefully we'll both be GM :-)

As I've already stated, healing with veterinary is very much difficulty based. If it isn't here, then it is era inaccurate. The only way to GM veterinary during this time period was to bandage nearly dead dragons because other than white wyrms, they're the only pet with enough HP for it to be considered difficult.
