Without wrestling or resist, you're going to get raped hard. But you really have no choice if you're soloing them with one account. IMO (GM carto/LP that has done over 1000 treasure maps of level 3-5), go with provo and music. Stealth and remove trap are useless, despite what people say. Sure, it takes a LOT of lvl 4 dungeon chests to GM LP, but I hardly EVER ran into anyone at the lvl 4 chest spots. I got PKed once or twice at the AW and LL ones, but all you have to do is carry a pair of invis jewelry, which you'll get tons of from the chests.
It's going to be nearly impossible for you to solo a lvl 5 though. If balrons or daemons pop when you first dig up the chest, you're pretty much screwed unless you have invis jewelry and equip the exact moment they target. Even after that, none of the other mobs that spawn will be able to kill the balron. You're better off getting a tamer to help

I used an alternate character to finish off the mobs who survived, as I didn't have eval.
Same exept I don't have hiding I went with resist.

Shouldn't there be a delay in getting attacked from when you dig up the chest? Why is this different for Lvl 5s?

The Balrons/Demons are very aggressive so they attack you faster than other monsters. It gives you like 1 second to hide. I hide like 90% of the time. 5% I run away and provo, the other 5% I get boned with a hit/FS and die due to lack of resist.
I like the template though because its easier to do a lot of things with hiding vs. just lowering the damage you receive. That's my opinion though, clearly you can see that a lot of different templates work. It's really going with what you're most comfortable with.

I just did a level 5 on the test server. I mostly wanted to see what spawned, but I used this template:
magery
med
music
provo
peacemaking
resist
wrestling
Something like that...but I just wanted to point out that I hit peacemake just as the guards popped and I could get more than a screen away on foot. Really if you can do that and provo the Balron, you should be able to survive with lots of running around. I just didn't see peacemake in anyone's template.

A few things to say... first, Balrons aren't unkillable. Ogre Lords can make a dent in them, and I believe Dread Spiders can poison them, which really takes a chunk out. Ultimately, with every level 5 chest you're bound to end up with one Balron left at the end that's going to be the ultimate survivor... but he should be low on mana, so just drop a couple Energy Vortexes and that should take care of him.
Regarding Eval, you can still do some good damage without it. It's not as huge of a deal as you'd expect. It's needed for PvP, yes, but for finishing off monsters, it's fine to just throw a couple Energy Bolts even without Eval.
Peacemaking is interesting, that should allow you to get away every time without insta-dying to the initial rush. I may stick with hiding though, as it's much more useful in my other day-to-day activities like GMing Lockpicking.

You say you've done over a thousand tmaps, and you don't think its possible to solo a lvl 5? Yeah I'm gonna call bullshit on that.
I've done about a dozen level 5's so far, and easily 50 or so level 4's, all solo. The level 5's are a bit more challenging, but if you know how to control the spawn, it's cake.
Lemme break it down for you:
The chests always pop up at the exact same time (I count the ticks that the chest moves as it rises up from the ground) and the final tick provides about .5 up to 1 sec of time to hide (which has been more than plenty for me, I've never had a chest pop where I couldn't hide due to aggro.)
Hide, start dragging those heal bars, then take off running away from the spawn (to lead them away from the chest), then provoke the high priority ones first (casters first.) If you have a single Slayer, just run circles around the Slayer and get the mobs to follow you around, slowly provoking them onto the Slayer. Is it not dying fast enough? Throw an energy vortex near it, who cares if it gets dispelled, all you need to worry about is getting the Slayer poisoned (keep it poisoned, and just hide and wait for it to die.)
If everything else dies and you're left with one mob, kite it away, paralyze it, then run back to the chest, hide, and begin looting until another mob spawns. Then all you have to do is provoke it as normal.
I always stand southeast from the chest, about 1 tile away as most mobs tend to spawn east and north of the chest. Always keep magic reflect up, always keep reactive armor on.
You don't need wrestling or resist to do level 5's. Keep your distance and there's no need for either.

A level 5 t-map is not impossible by yourself, I've done plenty alone with my T-map hunter/bard.

The only real problem you should have soloing a level 5 is carrying all the loot you get.
