Robot has a valid point. Trammel was created because people given their freedoms decide to take things too far with griefing/scamming. OSI saw this was damaging their business model because the majority of players were tired of this. Please note there is a very distinct difference between the majority and the vocal majority. In most online games the vocal majority is the hardcore PvP crowd. They take the game, the game mechanics and basically the whole thing more seriously because to them it is a playing field, a battle ground so to speak. If any of you are fans of Left 4 Dead you will know what I mean all too well.

But here there is no business model, it's a free shard and therefore the PvPers will rule out. They will post the most and spam IRC, even if their input is a couple lines with a sarcastic cliche it will basically drown out the concerns of players that don't conform to their ideals of play. So as a non-pvper you basically have two choices. Deal with it or leave. I'm not saying this is right, I'm just saying this is the reality of games like this. I came to this shard with the full expectation of having to deal with the utter retards you enevitably encounter in all competative games and sure enough I've encountered some. But I've also had good fun playing with like-minded players who share similar goals in game so it's really down to you what you get out of it.

Like I said before, rise above it. If you get PKed, looted robbed etc, it really doesnt matter, all you've invested is time and with the razor macros and plentiful spawns it's not like you cant recuperate quickly. Just don't take it personally, and if they try and make it personal laugh at them. After all, it's just a game.

Solution : make your own anti-pk guild, charge people 4 protection.

This would help the shard alot. Anti-PKs are always fun to fight against.

Thus I was thinking of ways in which to present a Jihad element...fit with suicidals.

Scamming in IRC should result in an IRC ban if you have the logs.

And everyone turning against him isn't much of a suprise, the majority of the shard is probably having a hard time finding an avenue to use their l33t burger flipping skills in this economy so they make themselves feel better by being jerks.

Is there or has there ever been an anti pk guild on second age?

If there has been everyone in that guild probably ran alts in a pK/griefing guild.

To all you farmers..you want a rebellion? Figure out a good way to start the timers on a bunch of greater explosions by clearing the target after ignitiating the potions, travel in groups, stick together and Kamikaze yourselves after taking a hit. If you can macro out 5-8 pots together before three seconds are up, you should be good. You will die, but they may too as well and then so more likely then not in statloss.

I am going to experiment with this and trying to figure out if I can do this quickly/effectively with a red box outside of your pack as well.

I got inspired after the 9/11 thread to try to come up with something along these lines.

ACE tried this with TCA (dont think they were anti pk guild). in fact, their whole town, designed to promote player and community activity, is nothing but a haven for their reds and pks. does nothing to promote the player community, just pixels for them to look at. i have run through there town on newbie characters to see if they welcome noobs, but i was killed. this didn't happen once, but a few times over a long period of time.

their pks are some of the worst griefing pks (there are much better actual pvping pks in other guilds or run solo) on the server and hinder the potential growth of the server IMHO

OP, perhaps you don't realize that nearly every PK on the shard began with a farming character in order to make the gold to get that 7x GM PK character. I have been PKed many times here while farming. Did I get angry? Perhaps the first few times. After that I learned how to farm like a pro. Believe me, when we are out PKing, about half the people get away, and this not due to lack of skill on our part. There are people that know how to farm correctly, and get away 99% of the time, even from a group of reds. You're a moron if you bring uber valuable stuff out farming (i.e. vanqs, masks, etc.) The most you need to get away from ANY PK is some magic jewelry or a g heal staff and a recall scroll/regs.

And even if you do get PKed, whats the most you can possibly lose? 10k? I agree with felix, try actually getting griefed (i.e. scammed out of a large house deed, having someone loot your house, etc.) and you won't even care the next time you lose 30 of each reg and 100 gp because you got PKed while farming.

edit: Just read Teknix's post ragging on ACE. TCA was our blue/crafter/bard guild. Why would we all have PKs and then make an anti-PK guild? That makes no sense. We are one of the FEW guilds that actually genuinely PKs, not noto-PKs, not orange-PKs like most of the other PvP guilds on the shard. I think that is commendable on our part. We are not afraid to die in stat and have to macro off some counts. The only other active genuine PK guilds I ever see are TG and MHK. Another fact: our town started out with a packed vendor castle and was quite active for many months. Want to know who ruined that? The people that camp ACE 24/7, bring their blue alts daily to try to give us counts, try to housekill us daily, etc. That is exactly why we kill most people in ACE on sight now. After a few months, everyone who showed up to Aceopolis was there to either try to grief us, kill our stablemaster, attack us and run away, etc. And do you want to know why we grief certain people who are farming the same spots everyday? These are the same people that camp outside our war keep and run from us every single time we try to PvP them. I can't even remember the last person/guild in ACE that actually fought back and didn't run, even if they outnumbered us (with the exception of TG and perhaps Axe).
