When was you ever pointed out in my post Zane?

Try not to assume everything is about you next time.

My post obviously was directed at those that continue ranting on that they're quitting if the stamina problem isn't fixed.

It sure looked like you were since I was the one who talked about the testing.

Pointless now, it's fixed and we can move onto the next itme that gets people's panties in a wad.

We have people griping and complaining about bugs that could have been eliminated if people actually took the time to test out the new changes on the test center before it was released?
I would've done this, however the test server was either down or inaccessible throughout the dozen attempts I made.

If you remember, I did test it...I did voice my opinion...and all I got was a lot of crap from you (who didn't test it) saying how era accurate it was.

I don't use this phrase very often but STFU

Umm, that is a little strange since I tested it each and every day that it was active on the test center before it was published. I clearly stated my opinion towards how extreme is seemed when it was 3x worse than the current state. However, when the problems were worked out the stamina decay seemed fine and still does. The only problem with it were a couple bugs that was fixed today.

If you want to see my logs discussing my opinion to Derrick on the matter during those days please feel free to get in contact with me.

Try to learn your facts before posting next time, thanks.

I agree you originally stated about stam being extreme then out of nowhere (I'm fairly sure just because you felt like arguing you post this mess)
faust wrote:Why don't you try testing some of these situations using a 56k connection?

I think this is actually the main problem behind the discrepencies among most people. The more that I continue thinking about my fastwalk days the more this stamina decay seems to be looking precisely accurate. I remember the day that fastwalk was fixed and having to shift back to my slow 56k chugging speed on a mount. The amount of "all follows me" that had to be used was such a drastic shift it was simply insane... There are specific situations that I recall such as running from BK room chasing a guy and making it almost or to the pit room in Deceit on level 4 having to use the refresh bug to continue. I have yet to test this but it will be interesting to see.

The majority of Ultima Online players didn't get to experience the fast speeds before it was fixed in '00.

I wouldn't doubt it at all that this is the major problem behind this issue.
Its almost as if you try to pick fights even if you have to end up contradicting yourself to do it.

Post before that one...
Faust wrote:The stamina decay will be a good thing but it does seem a bit rather extreme from my recollection.

I have done very little testing with it so this is just my first glance at it so far.
Huge contradiction right there...

Here's my argument to the 56k thing... Right now, I have between a 25 and 45 millisecond ping. Back in the day, I had something like a 225 to 250 ping to Chesapeake, my main shard.

So let's say the difference is about 200 ms. Theoretically, that means that 20% of the time I am telling the UO server I want to run, it doesn't actually know that (versus right now). I don't know much about computers, connections, etc, but my guess then is that, as far as stamina goes, I'd have seen back then a 20% longer-lasting mount stamina.

I don't think many of us can really tell that small of a difference, unless there was some set route we ran over and over back then and knew for a fact - across many different horses - whether it fatigued or not.

I've been running a bit today and no problems .. could it maybe now that the new system is in place people are noticing the HUGE. diff. because maybe they have low stamina store bought pets. I myself use a llama so I know it had to be raised in the wild .. anyways just and idea ...

Aye, this was fixed this morn. The resultant changes from our old system are pretty minor unless you're loaded up in weight, or at low health.
