Its cheap water front property. I dont have a cool boat mining spot but it is what it is. This game is every man for him self when it comes to resources and property. It should be left alone. It would be like having a gm move a house because you wanted that spot lol.
As for boat looting, Its part of game play and enables pirates. I was a new player and had nothing til I found a poor fisherman with his ship unlocked lol. Also parked too close to a dock the other day and a person was able to take over 20k ingots off my ship from the dock and scatter my other stuff around the dock. I recovered some stuff but my 20k ore is gone which was my training ingots. I have to start over. Shit happens.

I agree. But there is some fuzzy issues that have to do with "mobile structures," and fair use to resources.Zorce wrote:Its cheap water front property. Re: Boat Mining *POLL*
Maybe do something for boats that NEVER move.
Boats(which are meant to be mobile) that never move more than "X" tiles should suffer advanced decay.

Re: Boat Mining *POLL*
Ok, so then owner just has to refresh it more.
Idea=fail.
But let me guess, you really mean by "advanced" that it decays within an hour, right? Yeah, not gonna happen.

Once again, how is it era accurate and/or consistent with the occupation of other "resources"?Duke Jones wrote:Maybe do something for boats that NEVER move.

I want a killer spot for a keep... can I have the staff remove keeps if the owner doesn't do enough in it or play enough during x amount of time?
Not trying to be snarky, but I just don't see the validity of the arguments on this.

you are correct sir i did ask this question in the past.Dagon wrote:I knew this topic came up before, but I didn't realize that it was from the SAME PERSON.

there is Not Currently any rule..... doesn't mean it can't become a ruleDerrick wrote:Player solutions are preferable over staff intervention in issues like this. There is not currently any rule regarding boat parking.
i am reasonably new to this shard and my characters are coming around
I know the easiest way to get lots of Ore is by Boat Mining,
and all These Parked boats are inhibiting me from obtaining the Richer Ores.
I for one would like to see something done about this!

Re: Boat Mining *POLL*
I think the discussion is very valid.
This has come up time and again, but enforcement is an issue. It's not like afk gathering where it's a clear cut violation on one stop. We don't want to get into checking to see how many days a boat has been in a particular location. Also I feel that rules regarding leaving a boat in the water blocking "spots" should not only be applied to specific areas, this could unfortunately apply to anywhere a player made a complaint, including town docks.

too bad you couldnt put currents in that automatically moved a vessel every so often. Or something like a global tide that would move you away then back if you are anchored.

Re: Boat Mining *POLL*
I believe there were on OSI, but could be countered by dropping anchor.

Then this sounds like a perfect fix if it can be done.Derrick wrote:I believe there were on OSI, but could be countered by dropping anchor.
If you are afk or abandon a boat it would stir things up a bit.

Re: Boat Mining *POLL*
problems i see are boat that seem to be houseing .. not that i have a problem with that .. but there are boats that are parked for housing .. (one on sell now for what it should be worth were it is parked .. if it can't be parked there .. its noobie key is nice but not worth near as much ) so i'd say to tread softly on this area .. imho

Re: Boat Mining *POLL*
i can see how boats blocking town Docks could inhibit RP guilds from doing any Role Playing, Using boats to get around rather than magic.
