The problem here is you've never really played the shard and therefore have no factual basis for anything you say. Honestly your entire arguments are worth nothing unless you've actually played a month or two here.

If stat-loss exists on any shard, its red players are not PKs. They're antis with murder counts.
Let's examine this concept. If you were an actual PK, you'd have more than 5 murder counts, and perhaps you presently do. Otherwise, you're a regular player operating within the constraints of the murder system, staying blue or just above the count limit. However, if you were faced with quality pvpers, you'd die more often. If you were a "PK" then, you'd face statloss with much more frequency (and no bullshit about how "I don't die". If that's true, then the argument for a lack of quality pvp is further bolstered). If you faced statloss more often, you wouldn't appreciate it. It can then be reasonably inferred that
Your statement is only half true. The true PKs on this shard do have more than 5 murder counts. Some of us are actually true pks. I had 49 before I died. Now I am macroing off those counts and will go back out again. The other few active pks do the same.
The great thing about this UO community is you get to know everyone pretty quickly. Your character/characters start to build a reputation whether they are blue or red. These “regular players” who stay on the cusp of statloss form a reputation very quickly. If you were a PvEer and died to one of these “antis with murder counts” in a dungeon, if you had any common sense the next time you see them in a dungeon you would recall away. Most smart PvEers will have invis, heal, or recall up as soon as they see a blue. A pre-emptive strike if you will.
One of the things that made UO great back in T2A is that usually when a player saw a PKer he would be scared shitless because most likely that PKer could whoop anyone. It means something to be a PKer. It takes skill and a level head. This is why there are so few PKers on this shard. You have to be really good to be a successful PKer.
Now let’s look at your argument of “lack of quality pvp.” Every shard with no stat loss PKers is well, a joke. Anyone can be red with NO penalty of doing it. What does this make? This makes half the shard go red, fight in gank squads. Most dungeons are empty and most of your PvP is on the edge of guard zones. I played on 3 of the biggest free shards of UO and was always considered the top 3 PvPer on each shard. My guildmates were always considered top 3 on the shards they played. So where is this lack of quality you are speaking of? Do you measure quality by how many miners and new players you and your “pk” buddies can gank at Brit GY or Delucia bulls?

Dueling rank doesn't equal skill IMO! You, Mid, Arawn, and Falx could all beat me and each other on any given day.

What I liked about T2A was costant balance. New players can be killed by PKs. PKs are kept in check by statloss.
And I liked the challenge. New players can be killed by PKs. PKs can be challenged by Stat Loss.
And it's not that the theory is dumb or uneducated... it's just that your goals seem to differ from the majority of the populace. Since it's not a matter of fact (thus right/wrong) it's just up to what people want. People playing The Second Age want it to be like The Second Age which includes stat loss.

After years of avoiding UO, an old friend recently told me about the UOT2A shard. I'm an old Metropolis/IPY player, so I've been enjoying spending some time reading around the site and getting back into the old UO mindset. So much so, that I was ready to once again forsake my girlfriend, job, sunlight, and everything else that necessarily gets left behind when you play UO. It really looked like a great shard.
Until I read about stat-loss. How very gay. How long until this is changed, so I and many other pvpers I know can join the shard and not get inappropriately penalized for ebolting you candycanes?
Stat loss is here to keep pk's that just want to pk away(eg you), Stat loss makes it so you don't waste counts on noobs and try to target stronger players for better loot.

Glad to see the shard go all out on accuracy instead of messing around with what people think the system should be. Definitely solves a lot of arguments.
And yeah, stat loss is badass in this form. Separates the men from the boys.

I am still laughing at the whole thought process of "if you have stat-loss, your quality of PvP sucks"
That's like saying, "If you don't have trammel, your quality of PvP sucks"
Go back to WoW.

They are the most open minded and level headed staff I've seen on a free shard. I think what you're failing to see is we want to party like its 1999 baby!! And we're playing UO while everyone else gets laid. I mean...

what I never understand is how having statloss hurts pvp?
UO has always had tons of pvp and Statloss has been in uo since what a year after it released? production shards had statloss and pvp thrived. Its called chaos / order and being able to war any other guild that accepts. Chances are they want pvp they are going to accept and you have it. Guild wars, C/O and if you are wanting no statloss so you can "pvp" anyone then chances are those people you run into arent going to fight back and it wont be much of a contest.
statloss hurts being a pk, not pvp. Only real pkers don't care about statloss.
