Some of the item count problem could be due to people hoarding junk, waiting for the next CuB.

Does not matter how many times its "confirmed" people are still going to hoard, hoping that the staff eventually cave, because they figure when we reach 15 million items and there is no possible way to upgrade the server, bar asking NASA, it will happen. Its like the chicken and the egg.

I give the thumbs up to this idea. Nothing should be free, if you can't afford to stock yourself up then you have bigger problems.

There are very few things in this game you need to spend money on after you've played for a bit. Why not add a couple more? Pots, Bandages, and Regs won't really hurt anything and they won't bankrupt players. It will, however, force people who want to participate to dip into their ever growing piles of money.
All while keeping inflation down making gold more valuable and keeping the economy more stable even if it's a slight degree.
Again, something is better than nothing once more.

I'm fine with free use tournies. I don't play 24/7 so I don't need another gold sink. And I don't hoard anything except pvp gear, that I use on the field.
Tournies with no free use wouldn't be some big gold sink, it would just be a pita imo.

I support removing free-use from most tournaments. The real deciding reason to have free use in tourneys was the inability to restock. I'm going to look into adding a short time, even just 10 or 15 seconds between matches for restock. I don't know if it's as much an issue of gold sink as it is for better resource management etc.

Why not make it a 2 minute re-stock period? Two minutes really isn't that long, but it's more than enough time for someone to run to the bathroom, grab a drink, or re-stock their gear.

One of the problems with making it too long is that everyone has to wait, we have to reannounce that it's starting in a few seconds or etc.
More feedback on this would be useful.

maybe the B.Y.O.G (Bring your own gear) matches could entitle a higher reward while still maintaining free use tournaments?

It wouldn't need to be a server wide announcement, just in the re-stock room.
Or possibly between rounds, spawn a banker in the tourney area, then despawn when the round starts.
I don't know exactly what would need to happen, but it could work. Two minutes really isn't a long time, but it's more than long enough to give someone the opportunity to restock.

Having 45-60 seconds in between matches is plenty of time for restocking and a quick breather.

resource management doesn't emulate pvp for everyone
:/
faust says he'll stand around and die if he runs out of mandrake. ill make sure i have enough to recall and get more.
i don't think this should be switched just because hemp and faust are on a crusade to change the way tournaments work. at least let this get the proper discussion before it gets changed.
obv this is not a matter of accuracy, this is a matter or player preference.
