Don't compare the fun you can have with this red thief idea to the fun you can have with a bank thief. Compare it to a thief template that's used in the lands and dungeons if you stock up and move outside guard zones. Thieves are a ton of fun to play like that. And it's much less effort, much more payoff (in terms of both items, and situations in which your template is actually useful) than what you're cooking up.

Mike is spot on,

I like the drop eval for macing idea too. Wands are great.

Sometimes you only have a split second to click a bag before the target gets too far away and you have to start the process all over. When you click a bag, it's great to know that your going to open it with good success. Snooping is essential, not to mention, you can sometimes steal a few things before they even realize that your a thief. However if they see..

"You notice Matron de Winter peeking into your belongings!"
"You notice Matron de Winter peeking into your belongings!"
"You notice Matron de Winter peeking into your belongings!""You notice Matron de Winter peeking into your belongings!""You notice Matron de Winter peeking into your belongings!""You notice Matron de Winter peeking into your belongings!""You notice Matron de Winter peeking into your belongings!""You notice Matron de Winter peeking into your belongings!"

the jig is up.

Yeah matron, thats true for a normal thief. But my point was,if u are red,all the peeps will run from you anyways, whether they see the "you notice badguy peeking into your belongings!" or not.Furthermore,if u are red, u will find yourself more in combat with other players than not.So you will not have the time for snooping and targeting,i guess. And if u have the time to do this, maybe when both u and your opponent are stuck in meele, that means u can snoop twice or 3 times without worry. At least this is how i see combat stealing.Maybe a really good player can snoop and set the target in those 5 step-2 seconds, during a chase (this wiil be hard, but who knows?).If this is the case then, yes,u will need 100 snooping.

you get kicked out for short term kills, and there is a thieves guildmaster in bucs, so it's possible. red theives existed though not a great template unless you're relying on being attacked. red theives were just people in the process of macroing off their kills

I think a dexxer with magery (maybe 60 with 40 in tracking) and stealing for his 7th would do well without snooping if he was red.
If a red just comes in and stands there alot of times people will swing first.
Being so wrapped up in combat also they wouldnt even suspect you were a thief or that they were being stolen from especially if you were red.
