Annoying?
Annoying would be you playing a dexxer looping an attack last macro. Tournaments are bad in your opinion because you rage-log when you lose each round, and then claim every mechanic is NEA thus the reason you lost.
Moving on topic..
- Add friendly fire to AoE spells (EQ / Pots / MS)
- Remove Free Use ( People just spam refresh pots all day, no strategy req.)
- Add more user-friendly spells ( teleport, field spells, etc)
- Enable "banking" on each resurrection.
I am still searching for a suitable fix to the issue surrounding flags resetting.

Annoying by it just makes it a chore to do, it doesn't affect anything duel wise when you stock so many regs anyway. It only limits newer players from playing the events effectively.

Go back to the old way that it reset but make it longer than it used to be and allow stealing the flag,
This would allow more templates. The flags weight would have to be such that stealing isn't over powered tho.

Let's keep this away from flames.
1.) EQ affects all targets (except for caster) on field, so why does it not work in the same manner in tourny's/ctf?
2.) In non-free use tournaments you can still run out of supplies and you still have to manage supplies, yet in free use environments you can sit there and spam red pots/mini heal all day long
Teleport can't really be abused because it's an easily disrupted spell, with so many targets running around it can often be hard to click the appropriate tile to teleport to, and it runs with the whole resource management issue. As it is now i can just mash my refresh pot hotkey unlimited times and just rush right through a sea of people not thinking twice. <--- and thats just idiotic
It would make sense to have the bank box open upon ressurection if you died; just the same as the bank opens when you advance to the next round in a tournament. Now with the issue of the flag holder not having a time limit in which to score is what bothers me the most. There is no reason for a person to be able to hold the flag for the entirety of the game, especially with free use he/she can run around endlessly escaping danger with red pots and spamming mini heal, and receiving cross heals. There should be a 2 minute timer once you capture a flag in which you have to return it, and if you dont, you die and the flag is returned. As it stands atm both teams can capture the opposing flags and have a never ending war until the 30 minutes is up, and if you ask me thats not ctf at all...thats nothing different than a giant double domination match. It needs to be more active where teams are constantly having to go back and forth strategically capturing/defending the flags and scoring.

Solutions for CTF Flag Returns so far:
- Enable stealing and make the flag steal-able.
- Require the flag be taken back to its home base after so much time has passed in order for it to be captured & yield points.
- Reset the flag after <X> time has passed, but randomly place the flag somewhere on the CTF map, instead of it's static home location to prevent "time wars"

flag stealable is a bad idea as it pretty much removes any sort of balance (razor target by type macro)
Just remove EQ or add flags that reset after 3 minutes ;/

Whatever the flag's "type" is, I'm sure it can be randomized by derrick somehow to eliminate this technique.
Also, even if changes are made, and later we decide it should be changed again, we can always make another post like this one.

I agree with wall of stones, teleports, other field spells, and no infinite GR pots. Everything else I don't really agree with. free use regs is good, EQ needs to be disabled... because when one friend gets split up from his other friends, hes just going to EQ spam his own team to ensure his friends on the other team win. No stealing of flags thats lame.

I think there should be free regs but not free potions. But one thing you have to realize about removing any free use is, if someone runs out ofsupplies, they can now be farmed for points Stealing the flag would be awesome because suddenly there would be more skills that would be useful for ctf. What if suddenly it was useful to have detect hidden, or if there were tamers(animal walls would of course be illegal and maybe even a pet limit who knows) and now people are using enticement . . . in ctf.
PvP should definitely be in the game, and a big part of it, but I think it would spice it up a bit if it wasn't always the best thing to do. We already got an all PvP, large group event called double domination, and of course theres always the 1v1,2v2,3v3,4v4 if you really wanna square off with someone. And theres no PvP events like survival and bagball. Adding useful skills would increase the diversity of the events we have.

Running out of regs with the removal of free-use would be countered with the ability to bank upon each resurrection.

Removing the free-use for regs is gona make it so hard for new people to paricipate and that is lame since that's the idea of the CTF. Some people can't afford using 250 of each reg for 30 mins.. Why to leave them out of the event. There is a restriction for spamming spells - it's called MANA.
Pots.. well just make the refresh pots non-free, cure pots too.. heal pots have timer so they have a restriction already.. This will remove spamming without making it harder for people to participate..
The friendly fire is a bad idea.. it's better to remove EQ since it does full dmg to all targets, no matter how many are they - with frinedly fire what will happen if some jerk decides to saboutage his team with spamming EQ at his own base.. The whole event gets f*cked up.. just remove the EQ..
The MS and CL are restriced via targets.. no need for friendly fire for these. Paralyze field will ruin lots of thing.. when spammed by few people it will dramaticly block the logistics in the field so it's better without it.
Teleport seems ok in my opinion if allowed (if you can't do it with the flag). The paralyze spell too - if single-targeted it's not overpower and can't be really spammed.. Impossible to paralyze a flag carrier since he takes dmg non-stop..
The flag - just make it 7-10 min resetable.. will be enough if the game gets stuck..

problem with current system is that flags dont reset themselves like they should.
either
a; put back in refreshing the timer
b; remove eq to off-set turtling and increase offensive play.

CTF is not as fun as it could be.
We need virtually no restrictions.
We need all field spells in, paralize in, teleport ect. Magic weapons is nice too. Let dexers tear stuff up!
And I like the idea of adding in tamers. Although we'd have to limit the pet amount, still interesting. I don't know about thieves since stealing by type is in. I don't know if thieves have a place in CTF because it's too easy to steal by type, we'd have to program the flag to be a different type everytime it's captured and make sure people aren't able to add every "type" of flag to razor. It would have to be like infinite.
We should test it out.
