What does that have to do with this thread?

It's called Macroing.. (Working 2 of my friends magery/resist while they are away)

Why i'm even explaining myself to you is beyond me.
Just a simple question. No need to go highlighting words in RED.
i was more wondering how one can possibly stand running around with the skill window not only open.. but overlapping the play area. that would drive me insane. not to mention he hasn't refreshed his paperdoll since he made the character. i have ocd or something and refresh my paperdoll every time it displays a new title or might display a different fame/karma title... lol

Hahah!

I'm silly, 30" monitor and I still have all that stuff cramped over my play window

Yea some mobs are too strong. It was UOR that introduced mobs like orcs, lords ogres that were hard to kill.

And yes mongbats on this shard are very inaccurate to OSI, I never find mongbats that die in 1 hit. On OSI I remember killing mongbats in 1 or 2 hits even on newbie chars.

I agree something is off here. The mechanics of the shard are looking more "accurate" by the day, but some of the values seem to need adjusting.

I have always been curious why...

Meditation GM's at ~90 magery, when on T2A I always had GM stoics with ~70 magery, and thats without macroing.

Weapon skill is finished before tactics, cmon, nobody can say they were a GM swordsman before warrior.

I can sometimes fizzle res 10 times at 100 magery (I dont care what the forumula says, something is off here).

It takes way to many hits to kill some monsters. I had a blessed 25 vanq longspear in-era, and I would farm the single lich spawn in the alter room at T2A COTD. It was an almost garunteed 2 hit lich kill. Here, not so much.

I also dont remember being able to change your title by altering the skill-arrows (whenever they were introduced), but maybe thats just me. (Nor is it related) I know some people used to get 99.9 in a skill, just so they would show some silly title like "Grandmaster Chef"

Tactics GMed before swords for sure, and that was even on warriors where you were just doing a single weapon skill. Here if you GM both swords and wrestle, you'll be lucky to have GMed tactics. Though weapon skill gains here are completely f-ed up to begin with, if you ask me. GMing swords in 4 hours from hitting on an NPC mage (with 100% chance to hit by the time you have like 80 skill) was just not possible during T2A. If it was, noone would've wasted time on bone walls when they could just hire an NPC and watch their gains go beserk

Med not so sure, I was always the other way around - my magery skill was always much higher than my med during T2A. I made my first mage around May '99 so I don't know if anything was patched around that time. I never had a grandmaster stoic until UO:R was released (I had GM mages during t2a).

I also questioned this, it does seem weird. I remember every mage being a Grandmaster Scholar, every dexer a "Grandmaster Healer", every mule being a "Grandmaster Alchemist". It could've been lack of knowledge, but out of ALL the characters I had on OSI (which were a lot), it was funny that in my first month of playing UOSA that I would discover this. Though I searched OSI patch notes and could not find a thing.

If the results from attacking a mongbat are indeed what you're seeing, then things do need to be worked on. The stats for a normal mongbat (not a strongbat) are as follows:

HP: 4-8
Mana: 0
Stamina: 40-70

Given such a low HP value, a mongbat should be killed in a single shot with practically any weapon wielded by a moderately proficient combatant (as in 70's in their skills). And while it is possible that you were fighting a strongbat, they should be very rare comparatively speaking to normal mongbats (on the order of about 9 times rarer and in isolated areas of T2A and the mainlands).

I'll talk with Derrick about this when I get a chance.

maybe your bow is broken, i've ebolt+heavy xbow shot ppl from 100 to nil before, broke bow?

I too am on the down with hally mages, that's why I rock NaNwaNg, archer mage forever! Hally timers are off, 1 sec or 1.5 sec reswing timer is retarded

Don't think so, both brand new never before used.

Aside from Heavy X Bows taking an extremely long time to swing (11 seconds+) and equiping timer being messed up(If you equip it at a 10 second interval (too soon)the timer will reset and you won't swing for another 11+ seconds leaving the heavy useless in a duel because the timer resets everytime you punch.

Archery swinging slower, should put out more single shot damage than Swords.
Whilst Swords swinging faster, puts out smaller, but quicker DOT (damage over time).

Archery.. Slower = Higher Single Shot Output
Swords.. Faster = Lower Single Shot Output

The new patch will be good. Swords will be more accurate and consequently and less spammable than it is in it's current inaccurate form. While archery is going to be a bit better and more accurate as well.

I sure hope so.

I like both Swords/Mages as well as Archer/Mages.

I just don't want to have to play a Swords/Mage in order to compete with the rest of the players.

To only be able to play one type of template in order to keep up.

That seems very unbalanced.

It's not an issue of balance. If you want balance, go play a subjectively balanced shard. Its an issue of accuracy. If the Nov 99 accurate UO only has one real viable PvP template, then thats what UOSA should have, and will have.

Everything wasn't perfect when they first dropped the t2a code.

1 weapon wasn't supposed to be the only weapon doing damage.

Some things needed adjusting.

I guarantee this wasn't Richard Garriots or Origins view when he created Ultima Online.

There wasn't one viable template, but two: mages and dexers. And certainly most people were not running around with vanq weapons.

Archer mages did okay in the field, but I don't remember that being a widely used dueling template. But a dexer with magery and resist and who knew how to heal through dumps was very competitive.
