Every time you bitch about the swinging on the run thing It makes me wanna pull my hair out.

Grom... trying to hack at someone as they run away from you just ain't gonna cut it. It really sounds like you need to learn to work with the system better... Adapt yourself.

If you cut the whine sessions out ill give you and your dexer friends each free pvp lessons and a free force weapons.

I run around in full invuln and vanqs, enough potions to fill a keg. I'm not talking about killing noobs who don't carry a cure pot, or bards without wrestling, or guys half dead/low mana/barely equipped farming mobs, I'm talking about a fair fight, and the fact that I'm carrying around 30k'sh worth of gear on me vs a mage with 50 of each reg and a hally, is just ridiculous and gamebreaking. I could EASILY go around and kill people throughout dungeons farming, most people farming in dungeons aren't geared for pvp though, they're their to make gold with minimal risk, meanwhile the only faction type of pvp on the server is so broken I can't see why on earth there hasn't been extensive conversation about changing it prior to my posts.

If you want to give me some infinite supply of teleport rings to go along with everything I use already, go for it, that doesn't change the fact that it shouldn't take 40-50k+ worth of a gear just to be able to compete with a build that can travel around with a fraction of the cost and be just as, if not much more effective. The only reason such measures are even necessary is because of how broken and imbalanced current mechanics are for anything other than the hally mage template, and believe me, I see dexer ganks happen, comedians generally roll with 1 mage and 1-2 dexers (the most active gank squad since I've joined), and I watch my roommate on his hally mage run and recall away safely from those ganks a vast majority of the time because they can't swing on the run and between running/mini heal/recall he'll get away (not saying I'd rather see him die while farming, but he SHOULD in those situations). Not to mention how bad the current archery mechanics are, accurate or not, it's simply not fun and broken.

Lmao with all of your era accurate ways with razor. If this server wants to be legit, then it needs to go down to 1 account and no more razor system.

Well, UO Assist was around. Having Razor is better than to not, I think.

It's actually possible to limit razor to the features that were available on UOAssist (razor has far more features, making almost anything possible). However that would require every user on the shard to connect through razor - something Derrick is strongly opposed to. It's pretty much been stated multiple times "never going to happen".

Account limits have been discussed to death. I really doubt the 3 account limit (playing simultaneously) will ever change, though I would certainly welcome that day myself. It sucks when you kill someone after an epic battle, and that person shows up 2 seconds later, on an alt, to loot themselves and continue fighting.

Honestly, I never used UO Assist when I was playing T2A, but I'm sure it wasn't as complex as Razor where you can AFK macro most of your skills to 100.

And I agree with you that Razor is better than nothing, but I'm just trying to make a point with everyone that says, "This/that isn't era accurate." Neither is Razor.

Was AFK macroing legal on OSI servers?

No, but this is a "policy decision" and not an actual game mechanic... Derrick is not trying to replicate "policy or social accuracy", so macroing is legal here (excluding AFK resource gathering).

Those are some of the most crucial changes for balance imo (i could think of a few more to put on the table, but those are critical). They've been brought up/debated in other threads, so I won't go into it in detail here, but they always lose out to the argument of "era accuracy" after someone digs up some ancient archived patch note or random forum post.
Wow, what server are you looking for? Do you realize EVERY single item on your list was introduced during the UOR era?

Try reading the objective/goal of a shard on the front page of its web site before jumping into it.

This shard is replicating the same exact game mechanics during a specific timeframe around the t2a era, not redesigning it. There is not one single item on your list that existed in this era, and none of them was added until the UOR era. This server does not, and will not, ever introduce Trammel mechanics that existed out of era.

There are just some people that can't handle the original real version of UO. I hope you manage to get over your issues and deal with it, but you are definitely not looking for anything T2A related based on your responses so far though.

Sorry, but the thread title you created "UO the way it was - fun - Is it here?" is very misleading and completely skewed. First, you mention "UO the way it was" on a shard that is actually replicating the way UO was during this era. However, you are completely contradicting yourself by requesting inaccurate mechanics that make it "UO the way it wasn't" during this era by adding items from an era that wasn't "fun" at all for many.

You know, only having one server and not having to pay to play isn't exactly era accurate.

Please learn the difference between the replication process of game mechanics and policy decisions that has been heavily discussed here in several threads including this one posted by nightshark only a few responses up...

Again, this shard ONLY aims to replicate the game mechanics of the era, not the policy decisions that EA put forth.

Paying to play is not a portion of code that creates a mechanic in game, nor is the rule of no macroing or anything else that is legal/illegal for that matter.

I think people want to re-live the fresh and new experiences that UO brought. The first time I logged into UO I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do. That's what made it amazing.

You can't recapture that. But you can still have fun on UOSA if you want to.

So, you're telling me that archery was broken on the OSI servers? I think not. And this whole idea that you can outrun an arrow is ridiculous! You could never out run an arrow, it would eventually catch up with you.
