I like that this shard is "set in it's ways."
Not so much that I like all of the mechanics, more so that I like that there isn't constantly a new change to please whoever complains the most.
If it was it would be like all of the other custom shards out there.

I really meant the opposite. I appreciate your interest in Second Age, and there's nothing wrong with the wanting of these things, but one persons bad mechanics are things that other people appreciate, and vice-versa. UOSA is intended to be (i.e., the goal) OSI circa 1999, not because everything was perfect for everyone, but because UOSA was conceived in the notion that if we don't replicate 1999 no one else ever will. This is the true attempt at emulation. It's not a shard meant to satisfy the masses, I don't believe that to be possible.
I should add that yes, there are some things on Second Age that are there simply for fun, and although the argument that they should not exist in a true emulation is valid, they are not things that intentionally pervert "regular" game mechanics, such as intentionally changing stat regen rates, spell casting speeds, etc which are the true mechanics that we battle to get right.

They get tired now just like the old days. Get off and run on foot like it's 1999.

While I don't agree with the topic of this post, that there should be game-balances and stress-reducing changes, I would like to see our time-frame re-opened for discussion. I would like to play UO as it was on OSI, I just don't particularly care for the start/end dates on UOSA

11/23/99 is the target date i believe.

something that is poor to you may be me crucially important to another.

Would be nice to implement my original idea based on a global date variable for the server that 'progresses' the t2a era from day one until day end looping the process forever. That way the entirety of the era can be experienced by everyone getting a 't2a fix' that they particular enjoyed the most about the era. There would be no grief about the chosen timeframe and the only issues with era accuracy would be where and when they get implemented during the time frame structure. Players would get to experience the best periods of the era from plate mages, archery domination, pre and post thieves guild, insta hit and no insta hit, precasting and no precasting, pre and post healing dex based, both housing systems, etc.. etc... etc...

Nice idea, but it doesn't sound practical to me. Implementing would be a nightmare and people would complain that the day they can play is the day the mechanics are the worst.
Not everyone will be happy every this shard, gotta live with it.

Don't really see pleasing every player being an overall goal here and in reality isn't even possible.
People already complain about the static day this shard replicates. Would not be any different if someone complains about one of the other t2a days during the progressive changing state of the era. There will always be someone that hates any particular day of the t2a era. There will always be something bad about the era and that is a reality that most understand here.
Coding a system like this is harder than the current approach but it's not as bad as it may seem...
Don't see any reason for anyone to prefer playing one day out of the entire era instead of the full era itself.

Part of me sees it as a T2A accuracy thing, but part of me also agrees with OP about the combat issues.
Even back in T2A, there was constant change and patching to try and fix an obviously broken combat system, so while T2A did indeed have the combat system close to what we have here, they were in a process of changing that system in an attempt to balance it out... I use that term lightly as EA did a fantastic job is messing it up worse than it was, but it was a work in progress during this era which was constantly being changed. It would certainly be nice to have a more balanced system that was versatile with both mage only and melee only possibilities.

-This shard is Frozen in time, whatever errors/glitches/bugs that existed during that time, your trying to replicate..
-I don't think anyone came to this shard saying to themselves:
"Oh awsome!, I love the unbalanced pvp bank in the day, I can't wait!"
"Hell yeah!! I love this Era, there is this one glitch that makes UO so much more better!"
"Those glitches back in the day really made this game great"[/color]
A lot of people are saying "Suck it up" or "Get over it"... that's not right.. There are a lot of Vet's on here..people who've done their time and paid their dues... we have the chance to be heard, and make a difference..
In all actuality, were asking for slight changes.. No ones said, "I want better graphics"... or "I want trammel" or "I want a expansion"...
We want balanced Pvp, (lemme guess, suck it up and get over it)
if your not going to balance the classes, then take out the option to be a warrior.. because its a tease..
