I'd personally prefer to have this left alone, but making food consumable with no eating limit is a decent compromise.
When I started here I was actucally very surprised to find them here. Given the typical reception to any suggestion non-T2A related.
Not that these mini-battlegrounds are a problem, and i'm all for making the game
fun. It's just a slight of hypocrisy in the face of being 'the most accurate T2A shard' while simutaniously denying many other (real) late T2A features such as bless deeds.

Yea... 1v1 Tourney.... just gave up after a 10 minute dual to Grim. Waste of time! How again is it fair for them to run around for 10 minutes pre-casting gheal regening mana with limitless stam? some sort of cap to food needs to be put on in. say 50 munches a round maybe? how about 100? maybe a 1000 just to get these macer vs shitty mage duals down to a 30 minute rounds?

Make food consume-able

Dexxers can eat just as much as mages. I don't see the imbalance there. Both parties are now allowed to keep moving and keep their swing speed up.
Prior to this change, the "winners" of these tournaments were often people who just precast gheal and swung a qstaff around. It was extremely imbalanced in favor of macers. Tournaments are now more than just stam-rape contests.
As it stands, it comes down to either the mage getting in a solid combo, or a dexxer getting a lucky string of hits -- which is how it should be.

Not era accurate, but something that's certainly become a big part of free shards. They are justified in my own mind by having them take place off map, so that they don't substantially impact regular gameplay, and that people who aren't interested only have to put up with a little spam, and some red gates in town. We're still the most accurate T2A shard

and improving all the time.
One of the best solutions for matches that never end is may be implementing some sort of sudden death mode, likely by just disabling healing after 10 minutes or so, with a warning given.

I started this off as a friendly post to see what people thought and to see if any reasonable compromise could be found. But artards like Kydrith just make me mad. Ill eat my 5 fish steaks if you have to eat 500.
On a friendly note, I like Derrick's suggestion of turning healing off. 10 min. still seems pretty long but i guess it keeps skill (on both parties dexxers and mages) in the event.

It still is friendly. I have no quams with you whatsoever. I am leeting you know how foolish some of your remarks are and that you might want to think them through from all viewpoints instead of looking through the narrow tube you seem to be looking through.
You have a problem with the way the 1v1 tourney is right now because you can't kill people with your gimp char. So instead of improving your char to fit the requirements you go and bitch to make the requirements fit you. Sounds sellfish to me.

Seems others are looking through that same narrow tube...
Again, I am willing to eat 5 consumable fish steaks on my dexxer to your 500. (I'll eat 500 on my mage too.)

If you limit the ability to regenerate stamina in tournaments, the balance becomes skewed heavily towards macers. That is the ultimate "narrow tube", in my opinion.

Exactly!
This guy obviously doesn't look at anything outside of his immediate goal of making his char completely dominant.

And if you remove Stamina hit completely, then the balance becomes skewed heavily towards hally mages, because swords does more average damage.

A healthy balance could be found.
