Unlike many of you I actually played the T2A era from start to finish.
It was a passtime of mine to find people macroing while wearing their blessed clothing - then I would use a wand (better than q-staff, so then you didn't have to heal them as much) to beat them until their blessed clothing was broken.
Everyone who was there knows this.
However - blessed clothing from the silver system should be indestructable. It was an expensive prize and should be distinguished from the other newbie type of clothing bless for newbs.

I also played in era and has blessed bride sandals and blessed orc mask..
Orc mask broke, sandals were sold..
I was also told that sandals were one of the items on the lower scale of recieving damage from melee attacks.
I like the idea of silver blessed items being indestructable just not sure if it could be distinguished at this point?

There should be no reason to differentiate between silver-purchased deeds and holiday ticket deeds. If you now say "oh by the way, these new ones are going to be different", then you just screwed over the people who made recent purchases. Which is basically the same argument on this topic that was previously brought up a year ago. They should just be breakable across the board. It's the t2a way.
The argument was that making them breakable would annoy those people who spent their silver on them, well, that is already done by making the items so common anyway. This is THE best time to make this change without effecting one specific group of players specifically.
Add that to the fact that the deeds have mysteriously vanished from the silver-system, and you can moderately deduce that they are no longer obtainable through gameplay. Therefor, grandfathering them would be pointless, as no new deeds will be introduced to begin with.

It is true, sandles recieved little damage from melee attacks and would take a lot longer to be destroyed.
There must be a way to determine when something was clothing blessed. If nothing else any clothing blessed pre-holidays 2010 indestructable, and any clothing bless deeds created pre-holidays 2010 will make indestructable clothing.
As for Matron's petty little argument - silver rewards are special and are clearly meant to exist outside of the scope of regular gameplay - you could only get them by playing outside of the scope of regular gameplay, and with a currency (with an extremely inflated value) that only existed outside of the scope of regular gameplay. Therefore, the items should exist outside of the scope of regular gameplay.
Gotta be honest, I'm a little bit miffed that silver-blessed clothing was not pre-emptively stated as having different characteristics from regular CBDs simply because - like other people who spent forever getting silver-blessed clothing - it was damn hard to get your hands on them. Now every newb and his dog has them, making all the hard work pointless.

That is true.. Like when I spent all my trophies for True Blacks which then became a spawning rare!
I agree with you both, I'd rather see silver bought blessed items indestructable but Matron has a valid point that making them all breakable across the board singles out nobody.
IF I were to vote, i'd vote for pre-holiday blessed items to be indestructible though obviously.

You have a vested interest in that outcome though. As do I, but I would prefer fair, accurate t2a. You can't just jump in and screw new players all the time.

Not era accurate, my sandals never broke and I fought macers 24-7.
Matron is just trying to grief the shard as best as he can, as usual lol.
If clothing can be destroyed then we need to limit 1 account per person, if we're getting that anal about things or "think" we know what's accurate.
Some things are best left untouched, especially things that piss off players and generally make the game more annoying for everyone. Clothing, masks and sandals don't affect gameplay. Do we really need more people quitting over stupid shit? It's a fact that many people play for eye candy, we need those people to stay. Many people quit over the "standing still 1 second" before hally refresh thing, that was unneccesary and my friends who quit will never come back because people decided to be anal over the smallest change.
Multiple accounts and razor are clear examples of things we have to keep or the game will be fucked.
Besides there is no evidence for clothing breaking.
Basically to wrap it up, don't fix what's not broken. There's no reason to be so anal. Matron is just anal.

Psilo, there is a ton of evidence of clothing breaking. Since your memory is lacking on that, I'm going to guess it's lacking on the time period in which your sandals did or did not break.
It's a waste of time trying to argue that clothing didn't break. That's just derailing the thread. See this if you're interested in being a troll until someone proves you wrong again:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=20056#p176547
Mechanically, anything with AR can prevent damage, and anything with AR will take damage itself when hit sometimes. Sandals provide 3 AR, which is .4 displayed (
http://www.uosecondage.com/stratics/clothing.html). They should get hit 14% of the time.
My hunch is that if you were wearing some other kind of protection that also protected the legs, that piece of clothing/armor would take the hits instead of the sandals (like, if you're wearing a studded female armor, it would take hits from arm shots but if you're wearing studded sleeves too, the sleeves would take the hits). That's just a total guess that could explain why someone would find their sandals not breaking, even though they mechanically could have.

Unless you're running around completely naked with nothing on but blessed sandals, they're probably not going to break. That's probably the explanation for people "remembering" that blessed clothing didn't break.

I had blessed black sandals and newbie clothing that I dueled in 24-7 in t2a and NEVER did it ever break or did I ever have to replace it. I didn't even take my sandals off to fight a macer with qstaff hitting me tons.
Doesn't sound accurate to me Matron!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't items get hit in certain orders? Or at least have hit chance percentages assigned to them? Pretty sure sandals are low on the getting your ass beat scale.
Good question, I only remember emulators back in the day having messages saying where you got hit

1.) UOSA has a stated goal to emulate the mechanics and feel of the game circa Nov. 23, 1999.
2.) Mechanics available for players to "bless" clothing circa Nov. 23, 1999 created an item which was destructible but would remain with you when you die.
3.) Mechanics used by players to "bless" clothing on UOSA do not use the same mechanic that was available to players circa Nov. 23, 1999.
You already know you're wrong, I'm not sure why you're continuing a trammel crusade where you've already been proven incorrect multiple times.
