We should just make a big list of various topics that are not era accurate so staff can address them when the time comes...
Again, this is something I would put on the very bottom of the list, just before/after blessed items breaking.
It's negligible at best.

the only impact this would have is to devalue current items held by players
its not even a accuracy issue, theres no stated policy or mission to have all items be era accurate - its about mechanics people

I am probably going to get shot for this, but I think it would be much more effective to the economy and community if we could just restrict the furniture dye tubs to vet rewards
..and that would include removing the silver reward system and placing in the non-era-accurate vet rewards system..

Basically it would replace one non era accurate system with another.
I won't shot you: i prefer the vet reward system over the silver system too.

Furn tubs came from cub. Vet rewards were way after t2a. The silver system is the only real option for these items since cub is over.

CUB was a three phase event that happened once. Silver is constantly given to us, therefore not really a comparable way to achieve special items.

Why do you assume rewards must be given out via either silver or an era accurate manner? Since when are events required to be accurate? We cannot have creativity with regards to rewards and events?

its also one of the only ways to introduce era accurate items that were in play before the t2a era

Don't get the wrong idea, I really do think it's hilarious that a dyed chest is worth 100,000 gold (or something like that) and it adds an interesting perspective to the economy.
But I just think that if neither system is really era accurate, which one is most beneficial for the server? I believe the vet rewards gives incentive for people to stick around the server for a while. And also prevents uber l33t h4xx0r PvP'ers from stockpiling the silver because all of the server events are pvp (mostly) anyways.
So I look at it like this, if only the rares are era accurate, I believe we should consider dispensing those rares in a method that benefits the server for the long-term. Because truly, replicating OSI can't really be beneficial simply because the CUB was a "one-time" event.
I believe the furniture dye tub is the principle player in the UOSA rares, everyone wants it, and it's expensive as crap to get and use. Even if we were to use the vet rewards system, it would not be a 1 year reward, it only seems just to use it as a 3 year or something outrageous.. as to not nerf the price for all you rare collectors.

vet rewards dont really give any incentives other than for people to log in their inactive friends accounts to cash in
silver is actually a pretty effective system for introducing various rewards for attending events. this promotes actively playing the game either to get silver directly or to farm gold to buy it from other players. we should have more non pvp silver bearing events though. a single tourny can result in 20 silver, the only non-pvp events that could produce anything close to that are town invasions and the like that drop eagles which are pretty rare.

very true... i 100% agree with this staement. blackfoots events used to drop 10 silver to every player there and that could be 1000 silver from one event, so the current silver system is fine.
