events - prepare for e-rage.

For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

I realize there have been many cracks at the event inaccuracy thing. It's getting to the point where it's annoying.

If you want an era-accurate shard, why try and keep your population with things that are completely inaccurate to the era?..
Aha..

And would you please explain to me what kind of new arguments you are trying to contribute to the whole topic that recurs every now and then?

just a few

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=18944
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19086
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=14313

dafs

We already had this and it only worked for several weeks before it started to fade away and all of the steady complainers saw their "vision" broke.

Btw. i can't reconstruct the argument that there is no pvp, maybe not during your playtime. Chaos / Order was never this important since no magic damage intown.
There is always pvp especially before and after an event due to the concentration of pvp oriented players at the same time.

Please explain what 100 % era accuracy means to you.

- Lag
- pay-shard
- godlike, unfair gms
- bans for nothing
- gold via ebay
- 1k players online
- game breaking bugs

maybe?

Im not trolling. I dont even "know" you so please would you stay away with such an allegation.

regards

Not a single one of these items have anything to do with game content................dot dot dot...

Derrick is trying to reproduce GAMEPLAY era accuracy.
Not, lag accuracy, ebay item selling accuracy? Wtf would you even bring useless lists like that in to this post?

"Second Age is the most accurate emulation of the UO: T2A era online today. "

An emulation is attempt to copy something; sure you can't get it perfect, but why would we keep what people seem to think is a large player attraction (events located in maps that did not exist, with rulesets that did not exist). When we are ultimately trying to "emulate" UO:T2A?...

It just doesn't add up.

What's your definition of good? Because surely I hope you aren't comparing me to your outstanding ability to lose field battles while outnumbering your opponents.

Call me when you don't blow at everything but hally toggling and casting harm.

[12:55] <Paradox_> Is something going to happen to the events?
[12:55] <@Braden> Paradox: Probably not
[12:55] <Tagarr> Events should be weekly, imo.
[12:55] <@Braden> I suspect the status quo will be maintained

This thread is really just TG trying to implement changes to the server which suit their style of gameplay.

You can't run pvp bots, especially an illegal amount of clients in events, which TG loves to do.

seriously though, I do see where you are coming from and God knows I agree with you. With that said, this dead horse has been beaten long enough. Just grin and bear it, participate in a few of the events yourself and you might find that *gasp* they can actually be pretty fun! I agree it sucks that Fel is a ghost town during events, so I personally find it's a perfect time to get some farming done. Not once have I seen a red during an event. I'd love to see more events in in Fel, but the reality is people have lives and can't host events every night, but lots of credit and respect to those that do host events

coudl also take a proactive role instead of pointing fingers and telling other peopel to do it

try running some events and dungeon crawls and actually start realizing your dream

^^ The above isn't my point.

Like any era inaccuracy; it doesn't involve anyone "doing" anything.
It requires administrative intervention to make the change.

That's all.
There's no "Do it yourself" here.
It's switch, on, switch off.

An era inaccuracy that needs to be corrected requires 0 player intervention.
You're missing the point.

TG gets way more credit than you and crew they actually pvp in felucca while you sit in trammel showing off neon hair.

Nonsense, right now a shard I won't mention(which is t2a) has 2200 people online right now. The world is absolutely PACKED. People are just lazy on UOSA cause events make them just want instant gratification instead of going and looking for pvp.

Instanced Events need to go, they are seriously a huge mistake.

I strongly agree with what Tagarr is saying but at the same time I really don't want to see those events go because it would mean a good chance of more PKs out there in the field since they'd need to find their PVP fix somewhere else. God knows we already have enough of those walking around right now and as a crafter who needs to leave town to mine once in a while, I really do not want to see more PKs stealing my regs and ingots.
