Agreed. But his blockade was deemed illegal, while others aren't. Double standard. I have no problem with a blockade, as long as they are all dealth with the same. When you allow this one, yet make another be dismantled, it becomes a double standard with no firm rule in place.

Is this legal or not? Pretty simple question, but as the posts from years ago prove, $20 gold pieces say they continue to ignore the question.

In Era: Illegal (you couldnt make your own trammel on the sea and thus anyone everyone could be PK'd)

UOSA: Legal, yet illegal when the staff feel like it.

Darkwing blocked off the whole waterway to the city of Cove. That is a little bit different than a small mining area in the sea. It is a pretty smart setup, I kind of wish I would have done it lol.

While the usage of boats in Ultima Online can be fun and even useful, we have noticed many players who are actually abusing the usage of boats. Players are blocking off coastlines and will sometimes even block off harbors. We consider boats to be blocking if:
Ultima Online‚

1. They prevent access or egress to another area in the game

2. There is more than one boat owned by the same account blocking off part of a coastline, or other area.

Boats found meeting the above criteria will be subject to immediate deletion at the discretion of the GM. Boats are being looked at by the development team for changes, but until such a time, we ask that players not use boats in such a fashion.
Derrick wrote:I agree that they did do this. I'm just not sure that we have the resources, or the magnitude of the problem that this would have been on OSI. I'll continue to listen a bit before making any decision as to whether this is something we should get involved in.
It seems boat blocking is not era accurate and that it is agreed inaccurate by Derrick.

he also claims he "[11:57:07] <Thebreadman> ive never fished there and never will". also has claimed that he also does not have a miner at all so the point of this is .... clearly impeding people from normal boat mining.

the boats should be deleted or we should get a consistent ruling on blockading, including towns and islands.

Even if you did get past the blockade, there is no place for you to park your boat. I don't see what the problem is here. If anything, I commend the owner of these boats for their efficiency in parking. Somewhere, someone has a key to this, if you are that mad, find it, and steal the boats. (Like cA did to Dagon.

Its not about owning tons of ships and parking them fancy. If you think a lil harder u could have used less ships and still be fine. My main goal if to see why he must block off a sailing area. Is he afk mining or fishing?

Or he's blocking off the area to prevent both of those proposals from occurring. Maybe Derrick owns the boats.

It looks like you can get out onto his boats, like only the front layer is locked to keep the rest of them inside. If that is the case, why haven't you parked a ghost or stealth pk in there somewhere and wait to see who shows up and what they do. You could have capitalized on this, rather than immediately taking it to the forums to complain.
