Seriously, I don't understand how it was considered a conspiracy or a scam. I gave Bernini a free mare and told him I had a "keep Spot" I would offer in addition to w/e else would win the bid. I was considering a 300k fee for the spot itself plus 40k per small located on the spot which comes to 540k. this is only 160k short of the high bid right now so I don't see it as a terrible opener, but I specifically said to him, "See what you can get". I believe if you ask him he will tell you in no uncertain terms that I told him originally how valuable a piece he had found and that he should be careful selling it. But obviously this has been lost in translation.
Whatever.
