well, murderers are not frowned on by any means... It just your ideal template doesnt fit well in this era.

I really hope this doesnt discourage you from staying.

Poisening is a skill that shouldnt be on your PvP char unless you want to repoison blades during combat.. IM not sure if 100 points on a pvp template is worth this or not.

THe Mount issue is another tough one as you have read in this thread. Even if you stealth up to somewhat of a newbie at 1/2 health fighting and earth elemental and get him DP'ed he will be off your screen casting cures or recall before you could kill him.

you need to be mounted to be serious at PvP and unfortunatly that rules out stealth as an option.

Roleplaying an assasin will be very tough here... If its roleplaying your after and you want to kill unmercifully may i suggest checking out the orc RP'ERS? They do have some strict rules you need to follow but the guys who do it seem to really like it.

Hope you stay and Good Luck!

We have a stealth branch and we get quite a few kills ^_^ As for mounts, I still think they have too much stamina here and it needs to be tweaked. I macroed on a mount day and night for 3+ days and my mount never kicked me off and went wild. Mounts in T2A needed fed regularly and lost stamina quite often if not well fed.

What about the disarm thief, does that work on this shard? If so, what skills are needed etc?

Unfortunately, no. The disarm and stun mechanics were additions with the release of UOR. As such, they aren't in effect here.

I want to thank everyone for all the replies, unfortunately I have to ask a few more newbie questions...

1. is there a link to find all this info about T2A so I don't have to keep bothering you guiys with silly questions?

2. I finally got my T2A setup properly with all the old school music, but I can't seem to get the old school status bar, instead I keep getting the one that shows physical, fire, cold, resist etc. How do I get the old status bar (the grey one)?

3. Whenever I try to see an item, I have to single click it. Is there a way for the item to show itself just by me pointing at it with my mouse?

Thank you in advance...I think it's gonna be really fun once I unleash my special, secret skillset macer! :)

No way to view an item without clicking it.
The old school status bar must be obtained using Razor: there is an option in one of the option tabs to use: "PreAoS status Windows." - First checkbox in the first options tab.
On the MAINPAGE the bottom link is to the T2A "Wiki" which gives TONS of info on t2a era..

Also Ronk, I agree we have a little bit higher stamina than you did during t2a (not that much more) but I for one NEVER fed my horse during t2a.. I also NEVER got off of it so didn't really worry about it going untame.. But I agree we should have stamina lowered a tiny bit.. My mounts get tired once in a while chasing my kills around the world  - Would be better if this happened sooner cuz it's really annoying

I don't have speakers so can't help you there D:

I really belive this is a combination of windows vista and particular soundcards drivers.

I don't belive it's a problem in Windows XP.

Hmmm..it may be vista, unfortunately I chose vista when given the option of Vista or XP by Dell (*shrugs* *who knew* vista would suck!). Huge mistake on my part. It seems a lil choppy at times, but if you ebter another city and the music changes, that's mostly when you get a client crash, that's what made me think it was the music. But when i turn it off this doesn't happen, I just really love the old UO music.

Ok can someone plz tell me if this template will work or not? Here goes.....

hiding - 100
stealth - 100
snooping - 100
stealing - 100
lockpicking - 100
remove trap - 100 (is this skill absolutely necessary?)
fencing - 100 (cant you recall with scrolls without magery?)

The first 5 skills I would really like to keep, but I'm open for suggestion with the last 2 skills.

Remove trap isn't necessary unless you want to remain hidden when looting the chests. You can cast telekinesis on them. You can recall with scrolls but it is only 10% chance at 0 magery. I'm not sure, but you might need detect hidden to detect the trap before you can remove it. If so, I would drop fencing for detect hidden. This would let you stealth around towns and steal from players and stealth through dungeons and pick the chests. I'd go with that or choose between treasure hunter and thief instead of trying to be both. If you are going to have remove trap I'd recommend starting your charachter with 50 in that skill. It is not fun raising it from npc bought to 50.

If there was no mounts, then stealth would be okay for a DP dexxer to pk people with -but since there are mounts, if you want to pk.. .you need to either be a mace mage, swords mage, or mace dexxer....

btw training stealthing/stealth outside of town limits/guard lines helps it raise faster

Detect Hidden is a prereq for remove trap, and as such you cannot start a character with 50 remove trap. Kinda like Stealth and hiding ;)
