To be honest, im just trying to help those who really want to get over UO... which very few here do. They enjoy this endless slavery of their minds because it reminds them of childhood or something? (maybe?). Once you realise that the story CAN end; then it kinda doesn't bother you.

I mean, seriously; why play on a T2A shard (1999) unless you have issues? :D It rationally and logically does not make sense unless you are unable to emotionally move on from that time for some reason or another.

At the same time, I think very highly of this shard and that it provides a concrete way of people to re-live the past (for the first time in human history?), but whats the point of re-living the past if your not going to fix the mistakes you did the first time?
Ah, so anyone playing an old game is stuck in the past and should FREE themselves from an obvious burden. Go tell this to other old school gaming communities, they need your expertise.

lolwut?

one logical and/or reasonable explanation for someone to play an old game:

They enjoy it.

I guess some people play games to have fun. Apparently you define your life by it. So who really has the problem? :P

eggmona, nosferax, etc....

If you are here, you *have* a problem.

Not a mental illness or some other crazy name to explain things, just a problem; a problem in the emotional sense.

We all go through things like this in life and most of us are trying to work through them so we can resolve them. If this was not a normal thing to do then "Nostalgia" would not exist as an accepted social thing! So rejoice in what you are doing! Just do it properly so that you can fully work through it and respect that which keeps you here!

Don't cheat! Don't use automation! Do it right and do it properly!

The more you do it properly, the more you can give to the game, the better your memories will be and the more rewarding your in-game interactions will feel!

In the end, the more you do it right; the faster you can get over this! If that is what you truely want :-)

People still play chess. You are being ignorant.

Have you noticed the world around you.....wherein....games that are fun.....are still around?

In regards to playing the game right, without automation, I have a character that I play in another realm that is entirely devoid of current methods of 'playing' UO. I play like I did when I took it out of the box, for the most part.

It's a preference, not a mandate and the people I've found who choose to play that way with me, have the most fun we've had in UO in a long time. :)

exactly what I was about to say.

Obviously there is no merit to the argument 'you play an old game, therefore you have emotional issues'. But that should be clear to anyone reading your posts, testuseraccount. What is worth mentioning though, is that your statements imply that UO is inherently unfun. I disagree with this. Razor makes things easier, and UO had really old systems for keep track of items and using menus but I don't have a problem with any of these things. I like UO, and I came to second age because I liked the game, not because I thought razor would make it easier to win.

summary: screw you I don't have a problem, you bastard :D
