Balrons Suck, gold is good...but no good weps or items just a magic broadsword of usually crap. It can spawn slowly and mad pks. It's good for quick gold and if your into karma/fame. I just get mad scrolls mainly off them but they just sit in a box, so many summon 8th level scrolls.

Make a carto/provoker. High level T-maps spawn a plethora of high loot monsters and are relatively safe.
