Yes, I know that, but that's ALL my money. Hence I said, before I do that, I tried to find an IDOC...

Dude with 40 dragons what are you talking about having no money?!!! Did you make a tamer just to look at? I had a tamer last time around, if you spent all that time checking, ghosting, taming and complain about spending money... never mind I don't know what to say except maybe you did it for the screen shots :? No one is sympathizing you live in a box

Keep 20 Dragons on one half of the fire/lich hallway and 20 in the other little box and just loot liches...no PK is going to show up in close quarters in that little area  Would you bring a red into a hallway and little room full of Dragons lol You would be on some serious crack...Heck you can just let them all wander killing Elementals too. Jeezo Peezo dude

I mean if you are that lazy...you can camp there practically all day, just buy little store bought red pots cheapo so you can squeeze through to loot

I can make money with my tamer mate, no complains. However I am not into riches. I don't want to spend my "UO life" grinding/farming/grinding/farming so I can say I got more rare pixels than the others. So yeah, I grab my dragons and I go out to farm for an hour or 2 each day, I didn't say the oposite.

That doesn't mean that paying 0,5 mil gold for a house is not expenssive, esp. for a new player who has so many other expenses (skilling up his alts, gearing up etc).

Anyway, I didn't post my post to make this thread "about me". It was just a funny story for people to read on in their free time and maybe laugh or shake head. You know, why the forums are for among other things?

I enjoyed the post and can identify completely with what you said on grinding/farming. Thanks for sharing. :)

funny story. My friends and I stubmled on the IDOC's yesterday as well. We planned to release 20 or so dragons before the place dropped. It would have been really interesting to see our 20 and your 40. Absolute chaos!

released dragons don't attack blue players as they should... so it would of been lots of wandering dragons- lame...

You'll find that IDOCing vs people that do it regularly makes it nearly impossible.

Anyone else confirm this is true? I feel like i've experienced the opposite before. I believe recently Hax Mandoo released a bunch at the White Fraternity PvP tourny and many were killed b/c of it.

According to Pirul they do... viewtopic.php?f=42&t=37583&start=15

Obviously, he's not staff, but that dude generally knows what he's talking about.

They don't in guard zones, and a lot of people release them there. Hence the opinion that they don't.

Good story Bauhaus.. I guess each of us has to ask ourself how we want to play this game.. I am glad you chose to play it rather than just IDOC and wait for others to quit. The only way I IDOC now is if I run across it accidentally or see a pack of blues (or reds) waiting outside.. I found walking the shard every few days clicking house signs just to be an insufferable boring task that I was no longer willing to do. But.. there are multimillionaires that act like they have never seen a gold coin before playing on this shard - and as Vega said, you will have a tough time against them because that is all they do! Sounds like its time for some people to find something new to do if this game is so boring all you have to do is wait for other peoples stuff to fall.. But I guess if they don't do it, someone else will.. just not me. And back from my IDOC days, these 4 houses go IDOC every 2 weeks like clockwork - I stopped going there a long time ago lol

If this were my shard, I would give the house owners a 3 day grace period after the IDOC timer has expired to refresh it, at which point it could drop at any time during the grace period. This would discourage those IDOCers a bit and eliminate the timer based system -or- just have everything disappear including items in the house. This would give a big increase in value to true server rares (imho)

I just disguised a little strategy with sarcasm you see....
Places like Lich lords even though confined has a lot of room in which you can still easily lose control of your pets and easier still for pks to manuever more so when they can stand in areas not in LOS and drop Earthquakes. As players can heal faster then you can tend to your pets, this can be used to hearts content until you are weakened enough to kill. Areas more tightly knit with fast easy spawn are ideal for a tamer to own. Yes they may not have what you can get in Gazers or Balrons per kill but they kill easy and make up for it over time, they are fast spawn and you can pretty much destroy anyone who interferes. Another good place is red mages near the poison elemental. Except there it is very easy to be overwhelmed if not careful so yes you would want a large army and leave them here and there to wander. Remember the disadvantages of your beasts are their rate of movement. Areas of confinement help limit this disadvantage if chosen correctly. Always remember to place beasts even outside the immediate areas you are farming because of their slow speed if you are expecting company in less then ideal environments especially. It's a game of chess for a tamer more then it is pvp. Create the conditions in which to surround them rather then vice versa. Control and secure the area primarily then think about controlling your beasts. Even with limited AI they know to attack reds immediately. Think of the most secure areas to which would serve you best as a battleground to station your dragon sentries.

If I wasn't a bit nasty to you no one would read that...terribly sorry...you are still tight with your money and I still think you did it for the screenshots  I just get sick of seeing people with an army of dragons and haven't the slightest idea on how to command one. In groups they are more then not just a headache. With smaller platoons you can call yourself a general. Questions to ask, can I secure this position, will my beasts be distracted from spawn, If I am pinned in would they be too, will this be a disadvantage or an advantage, and where can I position them in a way which would turn such a disadvantage to my advantage etc? Being you planned out this Epic Idoc battle maybe you should take that fun to where it was originally designed in hunting expeditions?

Don't be a Guardianknight or that one fellow that had a horde of dragons standing firm in a single spot all the time that people griefed to no end....

Dragons will attack reds, blues no. WW's however show no mercy much like the Kobra Kai Dojo.
