If they have the time to pm you and tell you they want to bid, why were they waiting until today to bid? Why wouldn't they have the time to post their bid in the thread the moment they wanted to bid?

None of my auctions run that way...

Some folks will wait to bid at Auction until the last second because it decreases the chances of a bidding war, like on ebay when you snipe in the last 1 min of bidding.
