The main cause of the rise in prices is the rise in population. Since that increase has grinned to a halt, I think the prices should stabilize and eventually start going down. Of course I could be wrong

If you own all the houses on the server, maybe. Since you can only (legally/ by the rules) hold 15, doubt it
But keep it up man, and trash everything you cant sell, damn server saves take forever lol

I'm part of a team. That's 45 houses. There's 3-4 idocs a day. You do the math.

I am new here and currently in the NEW guild. However, the guild has a large population of players for a server like this and seems to recruit members on the regular. Close to everyday. I think that being one of the last 'good' servers out there has begun to grab some attention. What we lack in terms of 'group pvp' is echoed by our shard population. We need people to play here and we need to inspire a younger generation to play. I myself have taught my youngest brother to play and set him up to succeed. This game does not have too steep of a learning curve to enjoy the game. Steeper maybe if you want to win tourneys, but easy enough to pick up the concept quickly.
That being said, we need to advertise this game ourselves, not just vote everyday. Buy the bumper sticker from the donation store. This serves a dual purpose: it serves as a marketing tool to get more players and it supports those who run the server, website, and forum. Also, it helps you come to terms with your nerdy addiction and shows the world you don't give a shit (sorry for swearing). Go to sites like youtube and reddit and post the URL for Second Age. Say something great about the server and how its "UO the way it was supposed to be".
Teach your friends and relatives to play! Go through the torturous 5 hours of setting them up properly and teaching them and 9 times out of ten they will be hooked, like we all are. Even go as far as going to your local nerd hangout where kids play magic and D&D and see what those kids are up to. Find a way to advertise for the shard there. Maybe then we could see a jump in the shard population and the increase of field pvp away from Brit Graveyard.
Further Google+ is a new up and coming social media site and needs a UO Second age community for us all to join and express all the fun that we have.
I am almost 7x on my first med/warrior that I would like to field PvP with soon. Any groups or single players out there looking for a member or looking to start something let me know. I have been macroing like crazy to get ready for some fun pvp. Dont disappoint me with this server is dying attitude. Someday a MMORPG with balls like Ultima will be reborn, but for now we have to share what little we have left and make it grand.

A lot of people become discouraged from playing when every time a good opportunity comes up they get owned by a group of PKs, or a crew, depends what for. Getting a good opportunity on this server is rare, and most people don't want to work hard to achieve what others do easily.

Their castles, keeps, and towers drop and can't be replaced. Get your bank rolls up! stop living on shard handouts and go farm or battle idocs.
There is no housing problem on this shard.

I tried to type Chinese and it all turn into questions marks in game. I am not sure whether this is client setting or server setting. But either way, I think adding Multi-language input to the downloaded clients or the game server is relatively easy (I hope?) and can be very rewarding, if, this make the shard more welcoming for Asian players.
I will not beat around the bush. I have brought this up with the shard owner several times and he ignores me every time I bring it up. We have several Korean players who have been requesting it, and I see nothing to gain by discriminating against these players just to maintain era accuracy of the character set.
It is; however, the shard owner's decision, and we must abide by that decision. I can see two possibilities:
#1 - The client that we are releasing from the T2A era was released prior to Unicode being added into UO.
#2 - Our mission statement must be adhered to irregardless of which groups or individuals that it affects.

The client actually does support at least a larger subset of unicode than we have here, as it did in era (a selection of extended-ascii). This much anyhow, appears to be inaccurately disabled here.
http://web.archive.org/web/199910060122 ... nicode.htm
Best of both worlds would be to leave all fully compliant ascii alone (accurately sweet font), but if input instead contained a non-ascii character, display it in unicode for supported clients. Only downside besides implementation is a mixed bag of fonts onscreen (could get "ugly"), and ofc the big one: not accurate.

As we have seen before (but not always)
Not era accurate = not gonna happen (most of the time)

Yeah I was using that
UnicodeFont=On
UnicodeSpeech=On
To get sharper looking font on OSI long before the cutoff date.
