HA PAK MAN FTW!
Re: Selling Keep Near East Brit Bank
Not to send this to tt, but if you got scammed by a 14 y/o that can barely play the game...you got worse things to worry about than loosing a keep.

hey
i did things legit, he posted on forum saying he was buying i saw it. then he deleted post
GM saw that he deleted post and made him return the keep
Not sure why he didn't ban him though :\

Re: Selling Keep Near East Brit Bank
I'm not pro scammer or seller, just fuzzy on the rules.
Posting the details of a pending transaction here on the fourms makes in-game trades bulletproof and subject to GM mandates? And if this is the case, why do player brokers exist?
Does this rule apply to all trades or just big ticket items? What is the cut-off line? If someone want to buy an advertised 'full' spellbook from a player vendor, should they detail the pending transaction on the forums in case it turns out to be empty? Will we see some punitive GM action if someone buys an 8 charge invis ring with only 7 charges? And finally, is this players name Pak Man or Pak Man Waka Wak ?

Re: Selling Keep Near East Brit Bank
I was wondering the exact same thing. Why are there even brokers when scamming is, apparently, against shard rules?
Re: Selling Keep Near East Brit Bank
It would be easy to create an extra account that is used just for one big scam.
Re: Selling Keep Near East Brit Bank
There are several points to take into account.
If a scam is done in game/over PM, then you're hosed. If the scam is done over IRC and/or TRADE Forums, then the player is banned from IRC and/or TRADE Forum...not banned in game. Scamming is NOT against the rules of the shard. It has been known for people to make fake forum accounts, scam with those, and have those banned...meh, no loss for them.
GM's don't "make things right" taking away from the scammers and returning to the victim. I assume in this case a GM told the scammer that unless he returned the keep his Forum account would be banned, and the scammer decided it was in his best interest to return the keep. No in game ban would have been applied (that I know of).
...and that is why people use brokers.
