Just to explain a cpl of things
Re: Just to explain a cpl of things
i remember having EUO and dismissing the skill re-use timer and being gm herding in like 1 minute for stat gains
Re: Just to explain a cpl of things
Holy shit........Another TC reg? I always played that server. every wipe, I'd start over brand new along with the other regs. Remember Acid? Spyguy? the PD's who visited us, etc. Red, your name sounds familiar. I'm talking like way back in 1998 when we had our own town as TC Regs, was called Dien cathairs, remember?
Re: Just to explain a cpl of things
I remember Acid and Spyguy. We weren't on the best of terms.
I remember the town. Do you remember that forum we all used to use?
I think I remember you now. You were known as Paul back then, no? Used to hang out with Spyguy?
I used to hang out with a guy named Relvinian all the time. You probably remember him. I've been wanting to chat with him forever. I haven't seen him online in close to 10 years.
My name was Red back then as well.

Yep, that's me. I've always been known as paul. It's my RL name. I'm not big on RP stuff. Yeah, I became good friends with Spyguy, I've visited him IRL and he's visited me. We've had alot of fun together. Infact we even spent a summer vacationing in wildwood, NJ years ago. I remember you vaguely too; on the other hand.. me and spyguy both remember Relvinian VERY WELL. Remember Kaz? I was good friends with him. That was my original icq list, that icq # was like 5 digits. now my current icq which i dont use is 8 digits.
Re: Just to explain a cpl of things
Kaz rings a bell.
If you ever see Relvinian(Matt), tell him to look me up here.

I believe that was changed early on, because you could make a newbie and go light kindling by a high level blacksmith. It was before skill locks.
Because they were noobs. This didn't cause their skills to up. I got gms called on me all the time and I would say ha ha ha ha whatever u crybaby you don't know jack.
Re: Just to explain a cpl of things
The ability to gain most skill by watching was removed pre-T2A. Thie final few were revomed early T2A, well before skill locks:

I remember that this was a definite rumor. Other players doing the same skill influenced your gain on said skill.
I also remember server walls, and thus certain places that had less players would sell for higher prices. For example I had a house on fire isle, because less people would be in that section of shard.
Was it bullshit? Maybe. Wtf do I know.

Re: Just to explain a cpl of things
I do remember server boundries. It was said that certains skill that were less trained by the rest of the population would increase faster than other skills. Such as, a common skill like hiding was slow to gain while a skill such as taste identification would increase quickly promoting skill diversity. As for the other, I am not really sure but if a certain vendor had a lot of one item the price that vendor would pay would drop. For instance his inventory would charge by the stock number of items. If he had a large number of shields, he would pay little for more and sell them for less. This would make you want to craft different items to sell and thus giving the vendor more diversity of goods to hold.
Re: Just to explain a cpl of things
Gaining skills by watching other players was removed when t2a was released like Derrick previously stated.
10/1/98
Learning skills by watching people who are using them will be removed.
