why are the higher years more valuable?
I'd imagine 1 year and 2 year would be worth more?

I was wondering the same thing. But I think its the anniversary of that specific player's account on the shard? Not the shard itself? That's the only thing I can think of that would make the higher years more desirable.
So more like anniversary of a specific account being on the shard? Needs confirmation. I never been interested in showing off the bling.

time pieces are given out based on the years the account has been active... not the shard.
