back to the point though, removing/disabling some of the features razor has would add a lot to the feel that this shard is striving to achieve!
i miss in lor!

I've seen some In Lorers lately. It would be a nice feature removed, people who go through the effort to get an AlwaysLight patch installed will, but there will be more without it than with it, as that's always the case with client patchers.

Aye, I always just turned up my monitor brightness/contrast, of course this was back in the good days when it was just a nice simple knob on the front.

A little off topic I know, but I dont believe detect hidden revealed the ENTIRE house back then, did it?
I always thought it was dependent on your skill.
Also I think reveal & detect are jacked up overall.
The range they reveal people on is pretty ridiculous -- I thought you had to target the certain tile the invisible person is standing on.

Yeah monitors back then were so crappy though some got a crapload brighter then others.

UOE always had the "always light" feature back in the day. to be honest iv never used the night sight spell ever. i also miss the old "open bank box" button in UOE that would allow you to open your bank box from anywhere in the world. though you could not drop or drag any items in or out of the box, you could still recall off any runes that were in your bank with this bug.

Heh, I didn't use UOE and there was a nice bug when bank boxes were first added to the game, if you had it open when you recalled somewhere, it would remain open. You could drop items into it, but not remove items, and you could target runes from inside of it. This was when the bank had absolutely no item limit. Made farming easy as hell

Why is everyone so intent on removing simple helpful additions to the game like auto doors and agents?
Seems almost none of you are opposed to using vent and probably even use one of the latest versions. I doubt most people are giving up their optical mouse in favor of an old ball mouse from that era for the "feel".
Maybe for the best feel it's possible to ban non era accurate hardware? You'd all be in favor of that for the sake of the feel I'm sure.

Well said, I agree.
Just because we had to play with our monitors whenever we entered a dungeon back then doesn't mean we should have to do that now. It's a convenience, that's it. And lets face it, if someone wants to see in "daylight" in a dungeon, they'll find a way to do that with or without UOSA help/support for it.
The auto opening of doors I can understand a bit more, but I don't agree. This will only result in another hot key for the built in UO feuture to open doors, nothing remarkable. I'd suggest putting "era accuracy" effort into bigger changes, or the research to find the accurate information to make new changes towards era accuracy.

While these options are doable, the big hesitation for me as I've expressed elsewhere, is that it would Require Razor to connect to the shard, something I'm really not excited about doing.
Although most do use Razor, currently there are methods for connecting to Second Age without Razor.

i dont see why anyone would be afraid of euo because it works with so few client versions and the ones it works with are trash.
